4 TILT TURN TERMINOLOGY Use this guide along with the FFI tilt turn calculator to create a custom BOM for your windows. FFI stocks standard tilt turn items for rectangular wood windows, ask for information for arched windows, PVC and other window types. Single Sash Double (French) Sash Window Type Single Sash, or Double (French) Sash. For double sashes, the second sash uses a lever drive gear for turn (casement) function. Sash Rebate Width (SRW) Length of the hardware groove along the the sash width (not including the side rebate overlap). Sash Rebate Width Tilt Function Tilt Turn (TT) tilts when handle is turned up. Tilt before Turn (TBT) tilts when handle is turned sideways. Sash Rebate Height Sash Height Sash Rebate Height (SRH) Length of the hardware groove for the sash height (not including the top and bottom rebates). Tilt Turn (TT) Tilt Before Turn (TBT) Strike Keeps Strikes for tilt turn cams. Winkhaus: Choose from Standard or Security. Standard Keep Security Keep Sash Handing Handing (left or right) is defined by which side the hinges are on, viewing the sash from the inside. 5 TILT TURN TERMINOLOGY CURRENT LOGO Sash Weatherseal Primary Sash Gasket is standard, and Sash Overlap Gasket is optional. Choose Brown, Black or White color Groove Position or Axis The distance from inside of sash rebate (overlap) to center of hardware groove, usually 8.5, 9 or 13mm. Frame Overlap Angle Primary Sash Gasket Sash Rebate Height (SRH) Frame overlap angle If ordering drip rail and caps, choose flat (squared) or angled (15-18 ) shape for drip rail. Frame Rebate The rebated (cutout) distance from inside frame face to accommodate strike keeps, usually 18, 20, 24, or 30mm. Drip Rail Groove Position (axis) Frame Rebate Sash Overlap Gasket (optional) Turn Sash Rebate Width For Double (French) Sashes, specify sash rebate width (measured from interior) of the second turn-only sash Eurogroove dimensions Eurogroove The 16mm hardware groove milled into a sash edge for any standard multipoint gear. Air Gap or Gap The gap between hardware groove of sash and frame, either 4 or 12mm. Sash seals Backset Distance from gearface to center of handle hub.
