The integrated Acqua- Zero treatment vastly increases a fabric s water repellency. In wet weather, normal materials absorb water, eventually soaking and becoming heavy, which compromises their ability to wick and keep the rider warm. In contrast, Acqua-Zero nano treated materials retain their high breathability and superior moisture management abilities by repelling water and remaining light. Acqua- Zero treated materials help the rider maintain a consistent core body temperature through adverse weather. Because Acqua-Zero is incorporated on a nano level, it is an extremely durable semi-permanent treatment.that will withstand repeated uses and laundering. Acqua-Zero treated garments repel dirt and UV rays to stay looking like new longer. Dual Fit Strong A new generation performance jersey fabric that employs Dual Weaving and Reduced Point of Contact technologies. The material offers higher elasticity and recovery, making its performance both durable and consistent. The Dual Weave reduces the number of contact points between the garment and the skin and generates a microcirculation of air for ventilation. The spiral shaped weave works with an Interpower treatment to literally funnel moisture quickly to the outside, keeping you dry. The result is a sensation of comfortable freedom and well-being that can improve performance and reduce fatigue. 260 gr/m2 weight. DWR FINISH DWR (durable water repellency) is a fi nish added to a material to make it water and stain resistant. Giordana uses DWR for protection garments in conjunction with waterproof, breathable fabrics to prevent the outer layer of the garment from absorbing water. Saturation reduces a garment s ability to transport moisture through the fabric s breathable membrane. Without a DWR, an exterior can become waterlogged and heavy; damp fabric tends to sag and cling to the body. A DWR fi nish causes water to bead and roll off the surface, preventing precipitation from saturating the material. Instead of coating the textile s surface, Giordana DWRs are chemical compounds that bond to the material fi bers without inhibiting breathability. Giordana DWR waterproofi ng is extremely thin and retains the natural look and feel of the fabric to which it is applied. It is durable and will continue to perform through many uses and launderings. ERG200 ERG200 is an ideal material for the construction of winter jerseys. The yarn used is a very thin multi-fi lament polyester that is much softer and more comfortable than traditional yarn, yet resistant to abrasion and pilling. ERG200 is brushed with a classic diamond shaped structure. The fabric s ability to trap warmth is due to a fi nishing phase in which a particular machine modifi es the fabric, rendering it soft and fl uffy like fl eece. This loft traps body heat, retaining warmth and creating a comfortable sensation next to the skin. ERG200 is well-suited for use as a second layer, over a technical base layer in transitional seasons, and under a jacket or windbreaker in winter. Like all fabrics woven on circular knitting machines, ERG200 has an open structure that makes it highly breathable and promotes excellent moisture management. Perspiration is quickly wicked away from the body, keeping the rider dry. 200 gr/m2 weight. HD44 (HD44 + WindTex + PILE 3PL) Winter weight bonded tri-layer fabric used for jackets and bib tights in the Body Clone collection. HD44 on the outside provides a smooth aerodynamic surface. HD signifi es High Density and the 44 refers to the number of threads, indicating an extremely fi ne, tightly woven yarn. The thinner the yarn, the more compact the weave, which increases the speed of moisture transport. The outer polyester microfi ber surface is treated to repel water. The middle WindTex membrane is a new thinner, more elastic version that clones every body movement. It is wind and water proof from the front, but allows excess vapors to escape from inside. The innermost surface is a soft, breathable wicking layer called PL3. The pile texture varies in thickness, creating loft that both breathes, and conducts moisture away from the body to the outer layers for evaporation. It has an antibacterial treatment and a Lycra component for extra stretch. HD44 has a high thermal capacity and yet retains the advantages of feeling remarkably light weight and fast drying. 320 gr/m2 weight. HD44 Light (HD44 + WindTex + HD22) Winter weight bonded fabric comprised of three layers and used for jackets and bib tights in the Body Clone collection. The unique honeycomb structure, which incorporates nylon and Dupont Lycra, enables equal stretch in all directions, not just the two or four way stretch of standard spandex materials. Its high stretch and compression rate produces a micro-massaging effect on the skin during exercise that can increase blood fl ow to the muscles and delay fatigue. Due to its high opacity Moovix HD, effectively protects against UV rays. Its high moisture moving capability further augments the comfort that Moovix garments provide. Its lightly brushed inner surface is smooth and comfortable next to the skin. An antibacterial treatment inhibits the growth of odor causing bacteria in all Moovix garments. New Corsa New Corsa fabric is developed based on our most tested and proven winter materials. Used in the Giordana Custom Program, our Corsa garments have been worn by Giordana sponsored professional teams for many years. The new fabric is composed of three layers. The outermost layer is a 100 gr/m2 fabric that is smooth and resistant to wind. It is treated with DWR to repel water to keep the rider warm and dry. The middle layer is a WindTex membrane that protects from rain, but allows vaporized perspiration to escape. Closest to the body is a 155 gr/m2 soft-brushed material that retains warmth in its loft to comfortably insulate against winter weather. 295 gr/m2 weight. New WBA New WBA is a three layer bonded material. The outermost layer is 100 gr/m2 and is treated with a DWR to repel water to keep the rider warm and dry. The middle layer is a WindTex membrane that protects from rain, but allows vaporized perspiration to escape. Closest to the body is a 175 gr/m2 gray smooth soft-brushed pile that retains warmth in its loft to comfortably insulate against winter weather. 320 gr/m2 weight. SuperRoubaix A winter-weight microfi ber material that is made with a special interlocking knit and fi ts like nylon/spandex, but is thicker. SuperRoubaix moves moisture effi ciently and is breathable. It is brushed on the inside surface to create loft that insulates by retaining body heat. It is ideal for tights and warmers where warmth and freedom of movement are critical. Garments made with Super Roubaix have slightly higher compression effects, which provide a massaging effect on muscles. 245 gr/m2 weight. SuperRoubaix AZ (Acqua-Zero) SuperRoubaix AZ is a winter-weight microfi ber material that is made with a special interlocking knit and fi ts like nylon/spandex, but is thicker. SuperRoubaix AZ moves moisture effi ciently and is breathable. It is brushed on the inside surface to create loft that insulates by retaining body heat. It is ideal for tights and warmers where warmth, freedom of movement and water repellence are critical. SuperRoubaix AZ receives the Acqua-Zero water repellent nano treatment. (see Acqua-Zero) 260 gr/m2 weight. SuperRoubaix Carbon A new version of SuperRoubaix used on the men s and women s FormaRed-Carbon Bib tight. SuperRoubaix Carbon adds the inherent benefi cial properties of carbon to the tried and true ultimate winter material. The carbon element controls the stretch in the fabric, enabling muscle isolation to delay the onset of fatigue. Carbon also repels atmospheric electronic interference from cell phone towers and power lines that negatively affect performance on the bike. Like traditional SuperRoubaix, this new version is made with a special interlocking knit and fi ts like nylon/ spandex, but is thicker. ThermoDream ThermoDream is a winter-weight microfi ber material that is made with a special interlocking knit and fi ts like nylon/ spandex, but is thicker. 51% Poliammide; 37% Poliestere Thermolite; 12% Elastomero. 240 gr/m2 weight. WindTex A semi-permeable membrane that protects from rain, but allows vaporized perspiration to escape. The membrane regulates body temperature by repelling wind and water and maintaining a consistent micro climate between the skin and the material. 40 OMNIFORM CHAMOIS OmniForm The OmniForm family of inserts is made by Giordana in our Italian factory. Revolutionary technologies utilize HF (High Frequency) waves and low heat processes during fabrication. Both techniques avoid the high temperatures of other processes in shaping the channels and bonding the layers. Thus, Omni- Form pads are formed without the intense heat that can damage materials, compromise fabric properties and create hard edges. Each material used in the construction of OmniForm inserts is chosen for its elastic characteristics. These chamois protect while stretching and conforming to the body on the bike, then return to their original shape every time. The results are inserts that are smooth, supple, soft and supportive. a b 40 Aloe Vera Infusion (avi) Giordana is constantly at the forefront of innovation, developing and testing new materials, processes and technologies that will enhance the cycling experience. In 2011, Giordana introduced the fi rst and only chamois on the market to harness the benefi ts of Aloe. Giordana s top-of-the-line Cirro and Cirro-W inserts utilize a special Nylon microfi ber that incorporates Aloe Vera. The Aloe component is not a treatment, but is permanently incorporated into the material. The thickness of the Cirro O.F. varies and is 14mm at its thickest point. The uppermost layer of the Cirro utilizes a special Nylon microfiber that incorporates Aloe Vera. Giordana s Cirro is the first and only chamois on the market today that takes advantage of Aloe. The Aloe component is not a treatment, but is permanently incorporated into the material. Particles of Aloe Vera are infused into the threads of the microfiber during the manufacturing process, so that the benefits will not wash out or fade over time. The integrated Aloe cools, protects and even heals the skin while the rider is in the saddle. In addition, Aloe Vera is a natural defender against bacteria. Below this uppermost layer is a 4mm thick expanded memory foam with a waffled texture. The divots that create the texture aid in ventilation and perspiration management so that the pad does not retain moisture, but moves it to the outside where it can evaporate rapidly. The foam is bonded on the bottom with an ultra-fine protective liner. Together, these three layers make up the primary portion of the chamois that you see. Underneath the upper layers is a 8mm thick section of open cell padding that is hand sewn to the materials above. This highly ventilated padding is cut to a unique smaller shape that protects and supports the rider at crucial points against the saddle. The shape of this bottommost layer is designed to comfortably contour to the rider s anatomy and provide protection where needed most. A prostate relief cut-out in the center and independent glute panels allow maximum comfort and movement with the body in motion. To ensure that seams never come in contact with the rider s body, all stitches are completely concealed in recessed channels. The Cirro O.F. insert is elastic stretching and conforming to all movements on the bike, then returning to its original shape after exercise. The advanced technology and attention to detail make the Cirro O.F. the ideal pad for demanding athletes who always require maximum quality. c NIMBO O.F. The Nimbo O.F. pad was created in response to consumer feedback that called for more substantial padding at the Performance and Sport levels. The Nimbo is a seamless insert with variable thickness from 4 to 13mm at its thickest point. The uppermost layer of the Nimbo utilizes a polyester microfiber that incorporates a subtle texture. The squareshaped recesses that create the texture aid in ventilation and perspiration management so that the pad does not retain moisture, but moves it to the outside where it can evaporate rapidly. Directly below this layer is a 3mm thick expanded memory foam. Underneath the two upper layers is a 10mm thick section of open cell padding that is thermal bonded to the materials above. This ventilated padding is enhanced by perforations that allow air to circulate more effectively. It is cut to a smaller shape that protects and supports the rider at crucial points against the saddle. The shape of this bottommost layer is designed to comfortably contour to the rider s anatomy and provide protection where needed most. A prostate relief channel in the center and independent glute panels allow maximum comfort and movement with the body in motion. The Nimbo O.F. is molded with a low heat process that eliminates hard edges caused by the intense temperatures used in normal molding techniques. A new advanced thermo-form process and revolutionary bonding agent are used to form the pad into a single piece. This process applies the minimum amount of heat necessary and does not alter the inherent material properties.
