3 OmniForm The OmniForm family of inserts is made by Giordana in our Italian factory. Revolutionary technologies utilize HF (High Frequency) waves and low heat processes during fabrication. Both techniques avoid the high temperatures of other processes in shaping the channels and bonding the layers. Thus, OmniForm pads are formed without the intense heat that can damage materials, compromise fabric properties and create hard edges. Each material used in the construction of OmniForm inserts is chosen for its elastic characteristics. These chamois protect while stretching and conforming to the body on the bike, then return to their original shape every time. The results are inserts that are smooth, supple, soft and supportive. a b a CIRRO O.F. The Cirro O.F. pad is the new and the most advanced insert in the Giordana collection. It has been specifically designed for Giordana s top-of-the-line bibs and shorts. The thickness of the Cirro O.F. varies and is 14mm at its thickest point. The uppermost layer of the Cirro utilizes a special Nylon microfiber that incorporates Aloe Vera. Giordana s Cirro is the first and only chamois on the market today that takes advantage of Aloe. The Aloe component is not a treatment, but is permanently incorporated into the material. Particles of Aloe Vera are infused into the threads of the microfiber during the manufacturing process, so that the benefits will not wash out or fade over time. The integrated Aloe cools, protects and even heals the skin while the rider is in the saddle. In addition, Aloe Vera is a natural defender against bacteria. Below this uppermost layer is a 4mm thick expanded memory foam with a waffled texture. The divots that create the texture aid in ventilation and perspiration management so that the pad does not retain moisture, but moves it to the outside where it can evaporate rapidly. The foam is bonded on the bottom with an ultrafine protective liner. Together, these three layers make up the primary portion of the chamois that you see. Underneath the upper layers is a 8mm thick section of open cell padding that is hand sewn to the materials above. This highly ventilated padding is cut to a unique smaller shape that protects and supports the rider at crucial points against the saddle. The shape of this bottommost layer is designed to comfortably contour to the rider s anatomy and provide protection where needed most. A prostate relief cut-out in the center and independent glute panels allow maximum comfort and movement with the body in motion. To ensure that seams never come in contact with the rider s body, all stitches are completely concealed in recessed channels. The Cirro O.F. insert is elastic stretching and conforming to all movements on the bike, then returning to its original shape after exercise. The advanced technology and attention to detail make the Cirro O.F. the ideal pad for demanding athletes who always require maximum quality. c NIMBO O.F. The Nimbo O.F. pad was created in response to consumer feedback that called for more substantial padding at the Performance and Sport levels. The Nimbo is a seamless insert with variable thickness from 4 to 13mm at its thickest point. The uppermost layer of the Nimbo utilizes a polyester microfiber that incorporates a subtle texture. The square-shaped recesses that create the texture aid in ventilation and perspiration management so that the pad does not retain moisture, but moves it to the outside where it can evaporate rapidly. Directly below this layer is a 3mm thick expanded memory foam. Underneath the two upper layers is a 10mm thick section of open cell padding that is thermal bonded to the materials above. This ventilated padding is enhanced by perforations that allow air to circulate more effectively. It is cut to a smaller shape that protects and supports the rider at crucial points against the saddle. The shape of this bottommost layer is designed to comfortably contour to the rider s anatomy and provide protection where needed most. A new advanced thermo-form process and revolutionary bonding agent are used to form the pad into a single piece. This process applies the minimum amount of heat necessary and does not alter the inherent material properties. The Nimbo O.F. insert is elastic stretching and conforming to all movements on the bike, then returning to its original shape after exercise. UPF 50+ Asteria 2.0 Incredibly lightweight at 130 g/m 2, Asteria 2.0 is an 85% polyester microfiber that utilizes a compact weave of 44 threads per centimeter, which provides micro-compression and better coverage than its predecessor. This fine knit incorporates 14% spandex for elasticity and has excellent wicking capabilities. The fabric is put through a special hydrophilic treatment process to make it smooth and enhance its softness, which makes it exceptionally comfortable next to the skin. HC-44 A 210 g/m 2 Power Lycra made with extremely fine thread and reserved for premium collection shorts and bib shorts. HC refers to the fabric s High Compression rate, while 44 designates the number of threads per centimeter in the knitting process. Previously the highest possible thread count for nylon/lycra materials was 36 threads per centimeter. HC-44 s ultra compact knit translates into performance and comfort advantages for the rider. Micron has 100% polyester microfiber yarns that move moisture off the skin more rapidly than ever before. The unique miniature honeycomb textured knit allows airflow to keep you cool. The shape allows the material to stretch not just in two directions, but on the bias as well for maximum conformability. UPF 38+ MicroPhase A new 135 g/m 2 jersey material, MicroPhase utilizes a dual fiber makeup multifilament microfiber for excellent breathability and moisture management. Its high stretch and compression rate produces a micro-massaging effect on the skin during exercise that can increase blood flow to the muscles and delay fatigue. Its high moisture moving capability further augments the comfort that Moovix garments provide. Its lightly brushed inner surface is smooth next to the skin. UPF 50+ Nilo 220 A 220 g/m 2 stretch fabric with a silky touch, Nilo does the work of other performance fabrics, but with a softer hand. It is ideal for use in women s collections because of its silky smooth feel. The material provides ample stretch to comfortably conform to a wide variety of body shapes and sizes. UPF 50+ Sensitive A 164 g/m 2 silky smooth and incredibly soft material that is used in several women s garments. The fabric is light and breathable, allowing perspiration to evaporate quickly. It provides comfortable support for athletic use, and is comprised of 72% Microfiber and 28% Lycra. Sentry A new material that embodies the leading edge of performance technology, Sentry takes weather protection to the next level as the wind and waterproof material used for the HydroShield Rain Jacket. The 80 g/m 2 material is breathable as it blocks the elements, allowing excess moisture to escape so the rider remains dry and maintains a consistent body temperature. Sentry incorporates a unique hydrophilic membrane laminate, developed specifically for the sports industry. The membrane is distinctively different from classic micro-porous membranes in that is has no pores. Instead it achieves permeability via a special kind of polyurethane molecular structure. Large distances between the molecules and mutual forces between the polyurethane and water molecules are optimal for the function of permeability. When a molecule of water vapor contacts the membrane, it is drawn in and pulled through the membrane, for a time actually becoming part of the membrane. Then it is released naturally to the outside surface where the concentration of water vapor is less. Micro-pores in classic membranes widen in stressed areas and over time lose their ability to block water. In contrast, the non-porous structure of Sentry remains practically unchanged even after many years of use. Porous membranes become clogged with salts and fats from sweat as well as pollutants and detergents. In contrast, Sentry has no pores to clog and retains its benefits year after year.
