Any slight imperfections can be lightly sanded. Wipe with a damp cloth to remove any dust. Apply at least 2 coats of each basecoat color for good coverage, allowing to dry well between coats. Basecoat as follows: Medium Flesh faces & hands Sable Brown dirt (bases) & broomstick Soft Black hair on pumpkin girl Butterscotch hair on masked girl; broom; star of witch girl s hat Persimmon hair on witch girl; wrap on broom; pumpkin & lid on pumpkin girl; mask & cape on masked girl Moon Yellow masked girl s shirt (freehand lines of Lavender & dots of Foliage Green); pumpkin eyes; pumpkin girl s stockings; cat s bow Foliage Green pumpkin girl s cape (stars are freehanded with Lavender); witch girl s dress (dots 1

3 are Moon Yellow) & hatband Lavender witch girl s cape, hat & belt; masked girl s pants; pumpkin girl s bow Graphite cat; shoes Painting Instructions: All Girls: Shade the faces under the hair & around the noses; on the masked girl, shade around the mask; shade all hands against sleeves and with the chisel edge of the brush, between the fingers with Shading Flesh. Highlight the eye areas; noses; chins; and center of hands with Light Mocha. Blush the cheeks and mouths with Antique Rose. All eyes and eyebrows are Soft Black. Add tiny Warm White highlight dots to the eyes and top of the cheeks. Shade the dirt under and around the shoes with Soft Black. Shade the shoes with Lamp Black in the creases; under the cuffs; and to separate; and highlight the center areas of the shoes with Slate Grey. Masked Girl: Wash over the hair with watered down Burnt Sienna. With a damp paper towel, wipe off except where it sinks down into her curls. Highlight the curls with a drybrush of Primary Yellow. Shade the bottom of her mask; on the cape under 2

4 3 her arms; under her hair; in the dents on the back; and on the bottom of the knot; on the loops & ties where they touch the knot with Heritage Brick. Highlight the top of her mask; ends of the loops & ties; on the end of the cape she s hanging onto in her hands; and in the opposites on the back of the cape with Primary Yellow, and then with Hot Shots Torrid Orange. Shade her shirt under the cape; around the bow; and under her arms with Raw Sienna and highlight the open areas with Primary Yellow. Shade her pants under her shirt; above her shoes; and to separate her legs with Payne s Grey. Highlight the center of the legs (front & back) with Wild Orchid. Witch Girl: Wash over the hair with watered down Heritage Brick. With a damp paper towel, wipe off except where it sinks down into her curls. Highlight the curls with a drybrush of Primary Yellow and then Hot Shots Torrid Orange. Shade her hat, under the brim; top and bottom of the hatband; and in the crease; the bow, on the bottom of the knot; and on the loops against the knot; on the cape, against the bow; in the dents on the back; and on the belt, on each end with Payne s

5 Grey. Highlight the hat brim & top; top of the knot; ends of the loops; center of the belt; and the opposites on the back of the cape with Wild Orchid. Shade the hatband against the star; the dress, under the bow and cape; around the sleeves; above & below the belt; and in the dents on the dress with Leaf Green. Highlight the center of the sleeves and open areas on the dress with Primary Yellow. Shade her stockings (I left these just resin) with Lavender, under the dress; above the shoes and to separate. Shade the broom handle with Soft Black, around her hand and above the straw. Shade the straw with Burnt Sienna, above and below the band, and with the chisel edge of the brush, between the pieces of straw. Highlight the top of the broom above the band, and bottom of the broom under the band with Primary Yellow. Shade the left side of the star with Burnt Sienna and highlight the top with Primary Yellow. Dash a highlight of Primary Yellow through the middle of the hatband. Shade the cat, under her hand; above & below the bow; and to separate the paws and tail with Lamp Black. Highlight the open areas of the cat with Slate Grey. The cat s eyes are Foliage Green, with tiny Lamp Black pupils. With the liner and very thin 4

6 5 Lamp Black, line the teeth lines. Shade the bow; bottom of the knot; on the loops against the knot; and on the collar against the bow with Raw Sienna. Highlight the top of the knot & ends of the loops with Primary Yellow. Pumpkin Girl: Highlight the curls in her hair with a drybrush of Sable Brown. Shade the base of the pumpkin stem with Soft Black. Shade between the sections of the pumpkin and hat with Heritage Brick and highlight the open areas with Primary Yellow and then Hot Shots Torrid Orange. Shade the inside left of the mouth with Raw Sienna. Shade the base of the curl on the hat; on the cape, against the bow and in the dents on the back with Leaf Green. Highlight the opposites on the back of the cape with Primary Yellow. Shade the sleeves under the cape; and stockings under the pumpkin and to separate with Raw Sienna. Highlight the center of the sleeves and stockings with Primary Yellow. Shade the bow, bottom of the knot; and on the loops against the knot with Payne s Grey; and highlight the top of the knot and ends of the loops with Wild Orchid.

7 I left the ghost just plain resin. Shade the ghost under the head; against the witch and under the arm with Lavender. The cheeks are blushed with Antique Rose. The eyes, mouth and eyebrows are Soft Black. Add tiny Warm White dots to highlight the eyes, mouth and cheeks. Finishing: Finish with several light coats of DecoArt Acrylic Spray Sealer/Finisher Matte. 6
