3 Introduction Regimental Dress Regulations 1. This manual has been promulgated to detail the various Orders of Dress worn by members of The Canadian Scottish Regiment (Princess Mary s). It is solely intended to augment and to furnish detail to those dress instructions published in A-AD /AG- 001, Canadian Forces Dress Instructions in matters of Regimental custom and traditional Highland and Scottish dress as authorized by NDHQ. 2. All infantry personnel shall be issued and wear Regimental uniforms and accouterments, as detailed in this regulation upon successful completion of basic infantry training. Attached other trades personnel may request permission to wear the Regimental uniform. This does not apply to those persons who are attached or posted in from other units. 3. In keeping with Canadian Forces Dress Instructions, Regimental Orders of Dress are separated into those si categories common to all elements of the Canadian Forces. Band orders of dress will follow the CF numbering system but with additional accoutrements that will not be dealt with in detail in this manual. a. No. 1 Ceremonial Dress a formal order of dress worn with orders, Decorations and medals, and other ceremonial accouterments and accessories. b. No. 2 Mess Dress a formal evening dress uniform worn at military and appropriate civilian social functions. c. No. 3 Service Dress a dress uniform which meets the Canadian Forces public image standards, is appropriate for wear unrestricted in public. d. No. 4 Not Applicable e. No. 5 Operational Dress functional uniform such as combat clothing, flying clothing and Naval Combat dress. Used for training and operations. f. No. 6 Not Applicable 4. The responsibility for and care and maintenance of the items of kit issued to individuals can not be over emphasized. Considering that the price of a kilt is about $ at the time these instructions were issued and the combined cost of all items issued to an individual may eceed $ , this kit must be maintained at the highest standard. Neither the Regiment, nor most individuals, are in a position to reimburse the Crown to replace lost, damaged, or destroyed kit. 5. All kit must be marked clearly, but discretely, with the individual s name and the last three digits of that person s service number. 6. Only current CF issued items may be worn unless otherwise ordered by the Commanding Officer. 3

The Claymore is carried by Officers, the Regimental Sergeant Major, and the Drum Major. 7

The dirk is worn only by Field Grade Officers and Pipers with specific orders of dress. Garter Flashes, Scarlet 1.
