The Principal and staff of the school will work in partnership with parents and students to actively support this dress code. The School Dress Code requirements are as follows: Summer (terms 1 and 4): AAS shorts or plain navy shorts (no stripes or obvious logos) that must be at least mid-thigh in length to a maximum of knee length. AAS track pants or plain navy pants (no stripes or obvious logos). Shorts and pants to be accompanied by the school polo shirt or a plain navy blue or royal blue polo top. A summer dress is available for purchase. The dress must be at least mid-thigh in length. The school windcheater or long sleeve navy or royal blue rugby top or a plain navy blue or royal blue windcheater or jumper (no hoods or logos). AAS bucket hat or broad brimmed hat. Winter (terms 2 and 3): The school windcheater or long sleeve navy or royal blue rugby top or a plain navy blue or royal blue windcheater or jumper (no hoods or logos). School polo top or a plain navy blue or royal blue polo top. AAS track pants or plain navy pants (no stripes or obvious logos). AAS school tartan skirt or pinafore with a white collared shirt or white skivvy. White T-shirts or white skivvy are permitted to be worn under polo tops. Navy stockings or white socks (not both) to be worn with the school tartan skirt. School scarf or plain navy or plain white scarf. AAS bucket hat or broad brimmed hat
4 General Requirements all year: No stripes on shorts or pants. No logos larger than the school logo on shorts or pants. No logos other than the school logo on tops, windcheaters or jumpers and no hoods. Shoes must be secure to the foot with laces, Velcro or buckle/s and enable students to fully engage in their learning. No excessive jewellery or make-up. No denim clothing is to be worn. A school sports top is available for those students who wish to change tops for PE lessons. Hats Students are required to wear broad brimmed or bucket hats when out of the classrooms. Students who do not comply with this requirement will be asked to sit in a shaded area. Students are encouraged to wear sun-screen and sunglasses while out of doors. Only broad brimmed and bucket hats that complement the school uniform are acceptable and all students are encouraged to wear the school hat. Baseball caps are not acceptable headwear. Hats are not to be worn inside. Footwear Requirements Sport shoes are necessary to engage in Physical Education lessons. Covered shoes are necessary to engage in Year 7 to 12 Science, Technical Studies and Home Economic lessons. Steel cap boots may be required for some Vocational, Education and Training (VET) courses, but should not be worn as standard Formal Wear: Students who represent the school in situations that require more formal dress, can access the school wardrobe which includes shirts, skirts, ties and blazers. Jewellery: Students are expected to keep jewellery to a minimum. During certain lessons, such as PE, students may be requested to remove jewellery for safety reasons.
5 Non Compliance Consequences: No Hat. No Play. Students without a hat will be required to remain in designated shaded zones. For non-compliance with other aspects of the uniform will result in: the following steps 1. Warning 2. A reminder sticker in the students home book/diary 3. Contact with a parent/carer. Financial Hardship Student refusal to comply Parental refusal to purchase Negotiate a reasonable timeline for compliance. This will be discretely communicated to staff. Lunch Detention Informed that their child will not be able to represent the school in a leadership role. Possible exclusion from some activities for Work, Health & Safety reasons.
