1 Patient Name:... DOB:... Date: Post Procedure Instructions It is imperative you follow the post treatment instructions strictly. Should you have any concerns at any time, call Dr Nestor on You have chosen to undergo a hair transplant surgical procedure whereby your doctor has used the FUT technique. You have invested time and money in your grafts therefore please try to follow these instructions very carefully to ensure optimum results. Please contact us on if you have any concerns or you would like speak to a member of the HT team. However, please be reassured that serious complications rarely arise following a HT procedure and anything, which may seem unusual to you, is usually part of the normal healing process. The first 3 days after the procedure make sure you do not touch your new hair. We strongly recommend you spray your new hair every 30 minutes whilst awake for the first 4 days. General instructions Eat a light meal preferably salt-free following the procedure. Avoid chewing gum and hard foods like steaks and apples for the first 48 hours. Try not to consume any alcohol for the first 48 hours. Do not take Aspirin or any medication containing Salicylic Acid for at least 3 days after the procedure. Do not scratch your new hair or the donor area until scabs have fallen off. It is important that germs are not transferred from your fingers / nails to the donor

2 or recipient sites as this could cause an infection. If you do notice itching please use the spray provided for you. You can wear a cap after 4 days, however avoid wearing helmet for 1 week and hair- piece for the first 3 weeks. Try not to turn your head upside down for the first 5 days post procedure. Avoid sleeping on your stomach for the first 5 days. You will find rolling a clean bath towel and using it to support your neck very helpful. Avoid swimming in the pool for 1 month and in the sea for 1 week. Avoid strong sunlight for 3 months and rain for 2 weeks post-operatively however if unavoidable please use a hat or cap after 4 days. Take it easy for the first 48 hours. You can jog after 1 week. If you do intensive weight training we suggest you discontinue for 3-4 weeks. Do not use chemicals, hairsprays or cosmetics on your scalp for 2 weeks or until all of the scabs have fallen off. Avoid using a hair dryer for 14 days post procedure on the recipient site. Patients who perform dirty or physically strenuous labour are advised not to return to work for 7 to 10 days postoperatively. We strongly advise you to spray your transplanted hair every 30 minutes whilst awake for the first 4 days.

3 Washing instructions Day 1 (Day of the Procedure) - Spray every 30 minutes with normal saline. Do not touch the bandaged donor site Day 2- Wash the back of head (donor area) with a baby shampoo. Do not allow water to fall or splash onto the recipient site. Continue spraying your new hair every minutes Day 3 & 4- Continue instructions as day 2 Day 5- Start washing the whole head gently with a mild shampoo. Make sure the water is not too hot or too cold. Do not use pressure from the showerhead onto the grafted hair. Use a sponge to squeeze shampoo over the grafted area and then squeeze clean water over the grafted area. Continue doing till day 10- Continue washing the whole head using the sponge technique twice a day with baby shampoo. Gently build the pressure using the pulp of your fingers. Day 10 - You can gently touch the area when washing to remove any loose scabs Day 14 to 2 months post procedure - You can now resume normal hair washing. Start Start applying Minoxidil (Regaine 5%) twice a day to your new hair. You can resume your normal hair routine and grooming (e.g. combing, blow drying, cutting, dying, etc). Important 2 to 9 months - You will start noticing new hair coming through, we would encourage you to come in to one of our clinics to have an evaluation, preferably at 6 months. No chemicals such as hair colour for 6 weeks, lacquer or sprays should be used on the head for at least two weeks after the procedure. Do not touch, scratch or pick at the scabs.

4 It is normal not to see any growth at all before three months. Sometimes transplanted hairs initially grow for a few weeks and then shed before regrowing. Medication Chart Please note that no antibiotic cover is routinely required after hair transplant surgery unless the patient has a condition that predisposes him/her to an infection such as diabetes. Please take your painkillers regularly for the next 48 hours and then on an as required basis. Recommendations following a hair transplant procedure There are only two drugs that have been scientifically proven to be effective for regrowing lost hair or slowing down hair loss: Minoxidil and Finasteride. If you have not used Regaine (Minoxidil) or Propecia (Finasteride) prior to your surgery it is well worth considering adding them into your daily routine now in order to prevent further hair loss. Minoxidil (Regaine) 2% is the only licensed drug for female pattern hair loss in the UK. It has been shown to increase the ratio of anagen to telogen hairs. However its exact mechanism is not clearly understood. Minoxidil 5% is recommended for men. Minoxidil is applied twice daily to the scalp in a liquid or foam form. It has very few side effects such as irritation of the skin, heart palpitations or low blood pressure resulting in a feeling of lightheadedness in a very small percentage of people. Finasteride (Propecia) 1mg daily, a type II isoenzyme inhibitor, is licensed for men only. Propecia, which is supplied as a one a day pill, has been associated with decreased sex drive in 1.8% of patients, erectile dysfunction in 1.3% and decreased semen volume in 0.8%. Side effects, if any, disappear within a few weeks if the drug is discontinued.

5 Men who take Propecia should advise their doctor that they are using it because PSA levels, which are often routinely done on men over the age of 50 years as a "marker" for prostatic cancer, are affected by this drug. Propecia is contra-indicated for all women at childbearing age. Please ask for our information leaflet on Propecia. Hair Mesotherapy is the practice of using a combination of hair follicle targeting specific microinjections of compounded homeopathic agents and plant extracts such as vitamins (e.g. Biotin), sulphur amino acids, essential minerals (e.g. Zinc), dexpanthenol (the biologically active form of panthenol), ginkgo biloba and organic silicon in order to cause an increase in blood circulation to the scalp and stimulate the follicles to produce thicker hair. PRP therapy causes activated platelets to release growth factors. These growth factors promote bio cellular regeneration which in the case of hair loss is translated into prolongation of the anagen phase and follicular stimulation to produce better quality hairs. Camouflage with keratin fibres such as Toppik or Nanogen can conceal hair loss and make your hair look naturally thicker.
