The Salon Promotions education team along with Guest Artistic Associates have put together an outstanding portfolio including tailored colouring, cutting and foundational workshops bringing learning to life in an inspirational setting whilst showcasing new industry products and techniques. With over 30 years experience in the industry we travel the world in search of the very best brands, mixing the established and cutting edge with new and innovative brands. 4 Meet the team Laura Elliott Laura has been in the industry for 18 years now and has a wealth of experience in education, in her time she has worked with some of the industry s biggest names such as Sassoon, HOB, Patrick Cameron and Darren Ambrose. Previously Laura spent 8 Years working as part of the Wella Education Program where she progressed to senior educator and eventually was involved in writing and delivering new courses all the way up to degree level. Over the past year Laura has brought together a vibrant and passionate Salon Promotions Education Team along with a brand new training structure including our most successful courses from Laura is continuously looking at ways of growing our own education program to bring you the most up to date in training to help you get to the top of your field and ultimately be the best you can be. Laura says 2019 is going to be another exciting year at Salon Promotions, I can t wait to share our brand new academy, courses and knowledge with our customers. Craig Banks Craig is armed with knowledge and is currently celebrating his 21st year in the hairdressing industry. Vidal Sassoon Academy trained, creative stylist Craig has worked for Toni and Guy spending 7 years with them as a Technical Director before going on to open his own salon. Whilst he was there he headed up photo shoots, managed the salon and worked back stage at London Fashion Week. Until recently Craig was the very proud owner of his own salon Serenity Hair Spa in Huddersfield which was awarded 5 stars in The Good Salon Guide. During his time at Serenity Craig nurtured a team of exceptional stylists. Craig s strong passion is for the technical side of hairdressing and all things colour. Stephanie Cadwell Since working as a Senior Stylist and Salon Manager in a bustling Huddersfield salon; Steph joined the Salon Promotions team a few years ago and has 8 years of experience in the hair industry and over 10 years in customer service. Steph says I not only have a passion for hair, but a talent for making every client look and feel their very best. Steph has trained and worked with the very best Vidal Sassoon stylists and is always eager to grow her knowledge and push her boundaries in colour and cutting. Steph is one of our most adventurous and creative stylists and excels at braiding and fashion colour techniques. Steph is an in-demand session stylist appearing in national and regional shows. Clare Rafferty Clare has over 30 years experience in the hairdressing industry. She has worked in various salons, working her way up from Junior to Head Stylist. Clare has been running her own successful salon for ten years now, training and developing her own team; she loves meeting and helping people and is keen to pass on her passion and love for the industry to inspire others. Clare is the newest member of the Salon Promotions team and she is very excited for the coming year to be able to share her vast knowledge and experience. 4

5 Andrew Scott With over 15 years of industry experience, Drew has been lucky enough to work for some of the largest global brands and prestigious salons as both a stylist, educator & business development manager. Drew co-owns his own award winning salon outside of Newcastle where he specialises in hair extensions and creating the most opulent rich colours and looks for his clients. Drew s biggest passion is colour ranging from the wild and vibrant to the soft, natural tones, he takes a lot of his inspiration from both nature and history/looks through the ages in particular his favourite; Hollywood glamour from the 30 s and 40 s. Drew has recently been awarded gold awards for stylist of the year and colourist of the year, and bronze award for extensionist of the year in the British Hair and Beauty awards Sabrina Dijkman After graduating the famous make-up school House of Orange in 2006, Sabrina Dijkman born and raised in the Netherlands went on to get her degree in hairstyling in 2008 after being trained by Hester Wernert and Siko van Berkel from hair school Mogeen. With both make-up and hairstyling in her portfolio, Sabrina then had everything she needed to kick-start her career! Soon she started working for TV, fashion shows and magazines. Her work has appeared in various international glossy magazines and Sabrina loves that her work gives her the opportunity to travel the world. She has worked at many events in beautiful destinations, such as Paris, Milan, Miami, Mozambique, Tirol, Lanzarote, Bahamas, Bonaire and New York. Sabrina says Every woman is already beautiful, I simply highlight it! Sabrina is also ambassador and trainer for the worldwide luxury brand Alterna Haircare. She s in their European Creative team, and twice a year she gets trained by the Global Artistic Director Rita Perna Allor. Together with Rita and other team members Sabrina helped create the Alterna 2016 & 2017 campaign look in New York. Styling & Cutting Expert - Roberto has been in the industry for over 20 years, has his own salon and became an Alterna Ambassador in Roberto has worked at many runway events such as Milan Fashion Week and London Fashion Week. With numerous editorial shoots in his portfolio, Roberto has won the Visionary award Italy and has been nominated for Italian best hairdresser Roberto Marcon 5

6 Emanuela Restelli Over 20 years experience as a Senior Trainer for Estée Lauder Companies and resources trained, she has travelled around the world for brands such as Aveda, Philip Martin s, Chanel, Phyto. Regular television appearances on QVC as beauty ambassador confirm her status as a trusted authority on hair and skincare. Emanuela s discovery of Alterna was purely accidental while travelling in the US, using the products at home she was truly amazed by the extraordinary results that this was the brand she wanted to be part of. She has inspired and motivated millions of people. Sam Gateley With over 15 years experience, Sam brings her passion and expertise for Wedding hair to the team after establishing a successful Award Winning business in the North West. Alongside running her busy salon, Sam saw a gap in the market for Wedding Hair Stylists. Since launching her Bridal Hair division of the business, she has styled 100 s of Brides both in the UK and Europe. Her unique style and ability to work with her clients to achieve outstanding Wedding Hair has won her awards and has made her one of the most sought after stylists in the North West. Sam is a natural trainer, having developed and nurtured a number of apprentice hairdressers over the years. She delivers her training with enthusiasm and passion, and will help give stylists interested in wedding hair the inspiration and confidence to create modern but elegant looks for their clients. Siobhan Hooper Siobhan started her hairdressing career at the age of 12, where she started doing training nights at a salon in Rochdale, she had done most of her training but then had to concentrate on her GCSE s. Siobhan came back to hairdressing when her sister Celeste opened her salon, Celeste Arnold Hair and Makeup, 16 years ago next February. Since being at the salon, Siobhan has had the great fortune of working with some great people including; some of the cast of Hollyoaks and Geordie Shore. More recently Siobhan worked assisting John Vial at a photo shoot with Gareth Pugh (designer), Nick Knight (photographer), Val Garland (makeup artist) and her all-time favourite supermodel Erin O Connor, who was lead model for 10 Magazine. Siobhan really thought all her dreams had come true, then quite possibly the thing Siobhan was the most excited about this year was being asked to assist John Vial at a photo shoot with one of her idols Neneh Cherry for the ES Magazine London, this has definitely been a high point in her career so far. Siobhan feels strongly about showing others little tips and tricks that she has learned along the way; she feels like she has learned so much over the last 2 years, it would be a shame for her not to share it. 6

7 Robbie Woodhead With 13 years in the industry, Robbie has gained a reputation amongst his peers for his attention to detail, hard work and diligence. Before stepping out on his own Robbie was a director of a busy salon in the centre of Huddersfield for many years, during this time he helped to develop a vibrant and creative team whilst honing and perfecting his own skills and experience. Although Robbie is a fully qualified hairdresser his passion is barbering and he enjoys sharing his knowledge, enthusiasm and forward thinking mind-set with others. Robbie lives by the Mantra if you re not going forwards, you re going backwards. Adrian Allen Adrian who is a three times British Hairdressing Award Finalist established his beautiful salon over 25 years ago in the Dearne Valley, since then he has worked with some of hairdressings biggest brands both in his salon and internationally. Adrian s role has been varied with all the companies ranging from research and development, compiling and delivering product knowledge, delivering hairdressing skills on a national and international platform, developing training manuals, DVD s and exams and working on editorial and fashion photo shoots nationally and internationally. Adrian is extremely passionate about hairdressing. He has travelled the world whilst enjoying the challenge of his own salon. He loves sharing his knowledge with his team and now feels that it is time to work to make a difference not only to the trainees within his own business but also to a wider audience. Sonny Howell Sonny s career started 11 years ago in a family owned salon in Beverley, east Yorkshire. The experience he gained there was the foundation and motivation that gave him the desire to grow his skills, he was soon hungry for more. By 2008 Sonny had grown from being a hairdresser to a true professional hair designer and completed one of the industries most challenging qualifications, The Schwarzkopf Colour Master s Degree, at the Prestigious London Academy. Over the years at Colour Lounge Sonny worked on a wide range of photo shoots for various consumer magazines including: Your Hair, Hair Now and Cosmopolitan Hair. He has been involved in regional fashion shows, working for G star, Religion, Carmichaels and many more. Sonny took every opportunity that came his way when it came to growing or sharing his skills and became a valid member of the salons art team. In 2010 and 2011 The Team was asked to work at the Freedom music festival, tending to the Hair of Atomic Kitten, The Saturdays, Alesha Dixon, Beverley Knight, The Wanted, McFly and many more. This is true testament to his passion and commitment to his profession, Sonny says it s not all glamour and glitz, its hard work and quite often unpaid when your doing jobs like that but it s what you get out of the experience and working along side other stylists that makes you better at what you do, hard work and commitment always pays off in the end. be inspired be motivated be educated We re always developing and expanding our Education Team to meet the needs of our salons and brands. 8 Fundamental Colour Fundamental Colour is a course designed for those who are new to the industry or accounts who have come over to Neal & Wolf and Silky from another brand. They will learn all the fundamentals of colour and all product knowledge within our colour portfolio. You will hear how we deliver the information and conduct a consultation. This will give the colourist the confidence in assessing the hair fully and then choosing the correct colour for each client. PRICE: 150 NOTES: This full day course is a combination of theory and look and learn demonstrations. Corrective Colour Corrective Colour is a course designed for those who are confident with the fundamentals of colour and all product knowledge within our colour portfolio. This is not a product knowledge session and the educators will be spending time on the corrective information, the salon will learn about our recommended corrective recipes from taking clients dark to light and light to dark, they will also see how we deliver the information and conduct a consultation. This will give the colourist the confidence in assessing the hair fully and then choosing the correct technique for each client. PRICE: 150 NOTES: This full day course is a combination of theory, look and learn demonstrations and quick corrective colour practical. 9 Creative Colour Creative Colour is a course designed for those who are extremely confident in colour and want to take their creativity even further. This course is for stylists and colourists who already have a full understanding of the whole colour portfolio and will be competent in executing corrective colour recipes. The attendees will start to stretch the boundaries of colour knowledge and will take their mixtures to the next level, we will look at colour placement, creative terminology, expectations and social media. PRICE: 150 NOTES: This full day course is a combination of live look and learn demonstrations in the morning and quick creative colour practical session in the afternoon. 10 Free Hand Masterclass Perfect your existing Balyage skills with trend lead colour placement techniques. Push your creative boundaries and discover new approaches and ideas to master Freehand Colouring, Foils, Advanced Colour Placement, Root Smudge and speed techniques for when you re running behind during this practical, hands-on training session.
