3 NAIL COURSES Manicure The manicure is one of the most widely practiced beauty rituals, this course covers the entire manicure procedure. Introduction History of crystals and chakras Visualisation techniques Facial treatment This wonderful facial incorporates the body and soul in a combination of specially adapted massage movements. Indian head massage, pressure point and lymph drainage are used within this treatment which creates a feeling of total peace and harmony in our stressful world today. The chakras are identified and balanced by using visualisation techniques. Crystals are used to balance the chakras and a pendulum is used to identify any blockages. This is the first facial to incorporate crystals within the facial routine. Whilst the face mask is applied, the appropriate crystals are selected and placed within the mask on the face. The treatment also includes a scalp massage and reflexology. This is more than a facial; it is a special experience not to be missed. 22 Skin Peel A skin peel is a treatment that uses a solution made up of different types of acids to rejuvenate and renew the skin through increased cell turnover. Skin peels act as a chemical exfoliant, removing the upper layers of skin and dead skin cells to reveal the fresh, new skin underneath. There are a number of different skin peels available containing different combinations and quantities of acids. Peels range in severity from superficial, which work on the uppermost layers of the skin and give the skin a radiant glow, to deep peels, which penetrate down into the dermis and can cause layers of skin to peel away. Proof of facial qualification is required to attend Skin Needling Skin needling is a treatment which uses a tool made up of a barrel covered in tiny needles. The barrel is rolled across the skin of the face, neck and décolletage in order to improve the appearance of acne scars, lines and wrinkles, hyperpigmentation and sun damage. Anaesthetic cream is applied to the skin approximately 40 minutes prior to treatment in order to numb it. The skin needling roller is then rolled over the skin in all directions. The needles on the roller pierce the skin, creating hundreds of tiny channels in the dermis. This stimulates the skin to repair itself by producing new collagen and elastin in the affected areas. Level 3 or aesthetic or nursing qualification is required to attend this course. This safe and effective cleansing treatment to the ears harmonises and energises the body also helping many ear and head problems, such as sinuses and migraines. No experience required Ear Piercing 2 hour course This course offers a complete understanding of the history of Caflon and a detailed description of all the essential products used in ear piercing. You will view a complete, thorough demonstration on how to use the equipment and how to explain the procedure to clients. You will then practise a simulated demonstration before piercing your model s ears. All piercing will be supervised by the educator and there will be a question and answer session so that you may get clarification on any areas not understood. 24 Dermaplaning Training What is Dermaplaning? Dermaplaning is a method of exfoliation that consists of using a scalpel to remove the upper layers of the skin to reveal a smoother and brighter complexion. The scalpel finely exfoliates dead skin cells whilst also removing the fine superficial vellus hair from the face, commonly known as peach fuzz. The treatment will produce a brighter and more youthful glow to the client s skin, as well as allowing skincare products to be absorbed more easily. Clients also find that their makeup sits more smoothly on their skin following the removal of peach fuzz. Dermaplaning is a fantastic treatment addition to any salon, aesthetic or skin clinic as the treatment leaves the skin with a youthful glow that clients can see instantly. With repeated procedures, clients can hope to see improvements in skin texture and skin tone with results being noticeable from day one. As this is a non invasive treatment, this treatment can be performed on almost all skin types except those with acne. As the popularity has risen for aesthetic treatments, so has the interest in skin rejuvenation treatments. Please be aware this is an external trainer and will be taught by a fully accredited and registered aesthetic nurse. 25 BODY TREATMENTS Body Massage 2.5 day course This course is designed for someone looking to add to their beauty skills or starting a new career. This course has been carefully constructed with the right mix of both practical skills and knowledge, which will enable you to progress in your career as a massage therapist. The course is set over two days of theory and practical and then a practical and written assessment on the 3rd day. No experience required Indian Head Massage Indian head massage is a collection of traditional massage movements, applied to the neck, shoulders, face and arms. The massage technique also works on balancing the flow of energy by channelling into energy centres; which are often referred to as chakras. All delegates must hold a massage qualification Page 25
