Any slight imperfections can be lightly sanded. Wipe with a damp cloth. Apply 2 coats of each basecoat color for good coverage. Refer to the photos and basecoat as follows: 1:1 mix of Medium Flesh + Shading Flesh faces; hands; back of her neck Soft Black hair; belts; his shoes Sand collars; feathers; raised patches Antique Gold bodices; his pants Light Cinnamon ribbed patches Fawn turkey (beak is Butterscotch; wattle is Red Alert) Camel plain patches Cocoa woodgrain patches 1

Blush the cheeks and lips with Antique Rose. The eyes & eyebrows are Soft Black. Highlight the eyes and tops of the cheeks with small dots of Warm White.

3 Burnt Orange headbands; her braid bands; textured patches Marigold wheat Hauser Medium Green greens around wheat Painting Instructions: Shade the faces against the hair; above the collars on the necks; both sides of the noses; on the hands against the cuffs and to separate the thumbs with Burnt Sienna. Highlight the center of the faces with Natural Buff. Blush the cheeks and lips with Antique Rose. The eyes & eyebrows are Soft Black. Highlight the eyes and tops of the cheeks with small dots of Warm White. Shade the hair above and below the headbands; in the creases of his hair; in the braids of her hair; and in their parts with Lamp Black. Highlight the hair with Butterscotch. Shade the feathers with Antique Gold, and deepen with Burnt Sienna. Shade the collars under their hair and where objects touch them with Raw Sienna. Highlight the open areas with Warm White. The stitches are Light Cinnamon. Shade the bodices, under the collars; against the sleeves; on the sleeves; against the cuffs; and on his pants to separate and on the fringe with Raw Sienna. Highlight the open areas and bottom of the fringe on his pants with Primary Yellow. The buttons are dots of Light Cinnamon. Shade his shoes under the pants and in the groove of the sole with Soft Black. Highlight the toes with Butterscotch. Shade the turkey around the wings; under the head; and to separate the tailfeathers with Burnt Umber. The eye is Lamp Black. Shade the wheat with Burnt Sienna and highlight with Primary Yellow. Shade the greens around the wheat with Black Green and highlight the tips with Irish Moss. Shade around the largest raised patches; and both ends of the smaller raised patches with Raw Sienna and highlight the centers with Warm White. Mix DecoArt Staining & Antiquing Medium as directed on the bottle with Burnt Umber. With an old scruffy brush, apply the mixture onto the patched area on the piece. Do small sections at a time, being sure that the mixture goes in the cracks between the patches. Wipe off as much as desired with a damp cloth (I use a piece of an old T-Shirt). 2

4 Finishing: Transfer the words onto the raised patches and line them with Lamp Black. Finish with several light coats of DecoArt Acrylic Spray Sealer/Finisher Matte. 3
