2 Polston Applied Technologies had the best time at WWETT 2016! We appreciate every person who visited our booth to learn about our equipment and capabilities. We hope you enjoyed seeing our 2016 Combination³ Truck! Congratulations to the winners of our "smash and grab" giveaway, Jeff Stacy and Nick Roth (pictured above). Each of these gentlemen received the opportunity to smash open a concrete brick that revealed a gift card to the awesome company, Man Crates! We are looking forward to another great year servicing utilities and industrial applications and are excited about our new production trucks that will roll out over the next few months. 3 Yes, you read that correctly. Brendan Walsh of East West Dive & Salvage a commercial diving contractor in Australia that specializes in contaminated diving has been featured everywhere from Cleaner Magazine to Vice Magazine. Because Australian wastewater treatment plants do not process sewage with chemicals and instead use bacteria to break down solids by aerating them with large stirring machines that frequently break, the only way to fix them is by diving to the bottom of the tank. That's where Walsh (who says he loves his job and has never worked a day in his life!) and his dive team come in. Believe it or not, they can even pump music into these suits! Want More? S.T.O.P occupational skin disorders According to the Journal of the American Medical Association, a single case of occupational dermatitis can cost an employer approximately $3,500 in workers' compensation claims and an average disability of 24 days. (Plus, dermatitis doesn't feel good, nor is it pretty!)

6 Cracked and irritated skin may look like signs of hard work, but they can also be signs of skin disease. Substances such as dust and powders and abrasion from tools and handled materials can cause work-related skin disorders. Three main types of work-related skin disease include: Irritant contact dermatitis: Occurs when the skin is injured by friction, environmental factors such as cold or over-exposure to water, or chemicals such as acids, detergents and solvents; Allergic contact dermatitis: A skin rash caused by substances such as soaps, cosmetics, fragrances and poison ivy; Skin cancer: Caused by contact with UV rays or carcinogenic materials, such as used mineral oils and coal tars. The first symptoms of a impending skin disorder include itching, flaking, and scaling skin; sore, cracked and/or bleeding skin; swelling of hands or fingers; and blisters or welts on hands/fingers. The good news? Occupational skin disorders can easily be avoided at an early stage by taking protective measures and by paying more attention to the skin. Follow the STOP principle: S Substitution: Replace hazardous workplace substances with more skin-friendly substances. T Technology: Implement technical measures that reduce skin contact with irritants. O Organization: Introduce changes in the work flow to limit an employee s exposure to skin irritants, such as rotating personnel more frequently and allowing more drying time before parts are touched. P PPE: Use Personal Protective Equipment, such as gloves, to reduce skin contact with irritants. Click Here to Read the Original Article PAT completes storm drain work in Houston, TX PAT-TX subcontracted under Clean Serve and worked closely with the Harris County Toll Road Authority to clean 2,000 feet of storm drains along Beltway 8 (between I-10 and 290). The drains had not been cleaned in more than 25 years and were filled with

7 large concrete blocks, plywood and other debris. For three weeks, the PAT -TX crew worked overnight shifts to successfully clean the storm drains and allow future flow of rain water. GRIT 'ER DONE!
