Ebru began her career as an apprentice hairdresser in Istanbul, Turkey. A student of life with a love of learning, she opened her own successful salons, placing a premium on beauty, quality and customer service. The salon business placed her in prime position to network with other professionals in beauty and cosmetics. Ebru is most famous for launching her own Duo by Ebru range a revolution in cosmetics. Without the backing of major players, Duo combined lipliner AND lipstick in one discrete and simpleto-use package. Her guerrilla start-up featured in major fashion and beauty magazines such as Vogue, Cleo and Cosmopolitan. Customers and makeup artists alike clamoured for Duo in upmarket retail stores such as Daimaru, David Jones, John Martins and Ahearns. Recognising its breakaway success, a multinational competitor acquired the Duo product and company.
