2 BROW MAKE-OVER PROTOCOL Before beginning b ro w ma k e - over, ask client about their skin history. If the esthetician or make-up artist uses wax to perform a brow shaping, incorporate that technique into the protocol. If not, one is certainly able to perform an equally beautiful make-over using just the Chella Tools. We suggest using the Chella Razor to groom above the eyebrow. Over tweezing, waxing and threading can often damage or remove the hair follicle altogether; once the follicle is damaged, new hair may never re-grow in that spot. Using a razor to gently plane above the eyebrow allows you to remove the hair without damaging the follicle. This is important because as styles change, your client will want the ability to grow hair above the brow line for fashionably fuller or thicker brows with ease. Use the razor to remove any fine or difficult hairs between the eyebrows, as well. Studies have shown that razoring does not encourage darker, courser re-growth. The Chella Razor can also be used to remove any unwanted, wispy hairs between the hairline and eyebrow, as well as any pesky hairs above the lip or under the chin. 1. Ask client whether they would prefer a brow waxing, or a brow sculpting with the Chella Razor. Explain why the Chella Razor is a good alternative. Excess hair should only be tweezed under the eyebrow. 2. Take a few moments to consult with the client about your recommendations for the Brow Make-over service (face shape, brow arch, etc.) 3. To remove eye make-up under the eye and along the brow line, apply a small amount of Lush Balm Cleanser on a Q-tip or cotton pad. Remover cleanser with a cotton pad hydrated with water. Gently re-swipe the make-up area to remove all cleanser and make-up. E Y E MAKE-UP CLE A NSING TECHNIQUE 1. Apply small amount of Chella Balm Cleanser to a Q-tip or cotton pad. 2. Gently apply cleanser under eye area and brow area. 3. Do not remove mascara. Emulsify cotton pad with water. 4. Remove Lush Balm Cleanser with moist cotton pad. Page 2

3 4. Peel back foil on Chella Anti-Fatigue Eye Mask, leaving the mask pads in tray. Open the Chella Anti-Fatigue Mask Activator and pour entire contents onto the mask. Once they are fully saturated, apply as a second skin under each under-eye area with the wide part covering the crows feet and the smaller portion placed towards the bridge of the nose. Ask client how the mask feels. The mask will remain on the client for 20 minutes during the makeover. 5. Perform a demonstration of the Lush Balm Cleanser on the back of one hand. After cleaning one hand, ask the client to compare hands and notice the difference. 6. Commence the brow shaping, using either wax and/or the Chella razor, tweezers and scissors. Remember that you will only be doing one brow at a time for an accurate Before and After presentation to the client. Take the time during your first Brow Sculpting to explain and teach the customer where to begin and end the brows and proper arch placement. Page 3

4 7. Using the Chella Eyebrow Stencils and Chella Eyebrow Color Pencils, fill in the brow to the desired shape. Ideally use two or three color pencils to blend and match brows to the hair s highlights or lowlights. This will also allow for greater retail potential. Explain to the customer how the stencils can be used at home. 8. Once the brow is to the desired shape, apply the Chella Eyebrow Defining Gel to hold the hairs and color in place. 9. Apply Chella Lace Highlighter above and below the brow and blend, above Cupid s bow and blend, and use as a concealor for deeper lines or blemishes, moles, age spots, etc. 10. Show client her brows in a hand held mirror. Point out the changes to ensure she sees the effect. 11. Remove the Anti-Fatigue Eye Masks and discard. Pat any excess fluid gently into the skin. Do NOT wipe away the excess activator. Page 4

5 12. Apply a small amount of Chella Eye Cream Anti-Fatigue Formula under each eye using your fourth (ring) finger. Pat in gently. 13. Have the client hold the mirror and watch as you curl her lashes using Chella s Heated Eyelash Curler. Remember that the Heated Eyelash Curler is to be used after mascara has been applied. Make sure she compares the curled lashes of one eye to the uncurled lashes of the other. Allow the client to use the curler on her other side, so that you can be certain she has mastered the technique. 14. Remember you are a professional giving your recommendations on how you did what you did, and why. This is when you pull the products off of the shelf and place in front of your customer for their consideration explaining each selection and why it is appropriate for them. This might include the Lush Balm, Anti- Fatigue Eye Mask Kit, Eyebrow Colored Pencils, Ivory Lace Highlighter, Heated Eyelash Curler, Color Kits, Eyebrow Tool Kits and for the client who may have sparse brows or lashes, the benefits of the Chella Eyelash and or Eyebrow Full-Fillment Treatment or Kits. Finally, pull out your appointment book and schedule your client s next Brow Make-Over in 6-8 weeks. with a Page 5
