1 ASSISTANT BEAUTICIAN CURRICULUM/SYLLABUS This program is aimed at training candidates for the job of a Assistant Beautician, in the BEAUTY AND WELLNESS Sector/Industry and aims at building the following key competencies amongst the learner 1. Core skills/ generic skills and professional skills 6. Provide manicure and pedicure services required for the job 2. Understanding Anatomy and Physiology 7.Assist the beautician performing beauty services required for the job role 3. Prepare and maintain work area 8. Maintain health and safety at the workplace 4. Provide basic skin care treatment 9.Create a positive impression at the workplace 5. Carryout basic epilation services This course encompasses 7 out of 7 National Occupational Standards (NOS) of Assistant Beautician Qualification Pack, REFERENCE ID: BWS/Q 0101 issued by Beauty and Wellness Sector Skill Council. Carry out threading services Ensure safe and quick hair removal methods are carried out to minimize discomfort to the client Ensure the hair removal methods are carried out at a comfortable distance from the client whilst maintaining the correct tension of the thread. Provide clear instructions to the client on how and when to support their skin throughout the threading service Create a well-balanced, proportioned and defined eyebrow shape to suit the client s requirements, when required Check the client s wellbeing throughout the service and give the necessary reassurance Check with the client on satisfaction with the finished result Provide specific after process advice to the client
