4 The Secret of Beautiful Skin. About Your Skin The Dermaviduals range focuses on the health of the skin; specifically the Stratum Corneum, the outermost layers of the epidermis. Thought, until recently to be largely irrelevant, and comprised of dead and dying cells, recent research has revealed the vital role played by this layer. A healthy Stratum Corneum maintains optimum water balance in the skin. If this vital defence is compromised by inappropriate skincare it leads to water loss, resulting in a multitude of issues including dryness, flakiness, redness and even excess oil as the skin struggles to maintain its equilibrium. About Us The Dermaviduals range is formulated by Dr Hans Lautenschlager, an expert in Corneotherapy, the physiological criteria to maintain a healthy skin. 6 Cleansers The correct cleanser is the foundation of an effective skincare regime. The advent of facial wipes in a world where we are all short of time has resulted in speedy but inadequate cleansing, leading to a steady build-up of impurities on the skin. The misconception of vigorous, deep cleansing of the skin is not beneficial and ultimately damages the Stratum Corneum, upsetting the moisture balance of the skin. Within the dermaviduals range we have Two Cleansers a Cleansing Milk or A Cleansing Gel. Your skin therapist will advise you as to the best choice for your skin. Do not underestimate the importance of the correct cleanser. It is the foundations to a good skincare regime. Cleansing Milk The cleanser suitable for all skins, this milk will gently lift away all grease, grime, pollution and make up. 1 st Cleanse: Apply a 5p-10p sized blob onto dry hands and massage lightly onto the skin. Rinse off by splashing with water or wipe over with the dermaviduals cleansing mitts 2 nd Cleanse: Apply the same amount of milk, but massage it into the skin a little more firmly. Wipe the face gently with the Dermaviduals cleasning mitts until the mitts comes away clean. Follow with corrective lotion if your skin therapist has prescribed one for you. You can wash your mitts with some antibacterial hand wash and leave to dry on a radiator. Every week they can be washed in a washing machine. 6

Cleansing Gel Suitable for male skin, teenage boys and an oily prone skin this vegetable-based cleanser will remove impurities without upsetting the natural oils in the skin. 1 st Cleanse: Apply a 5p-10p blob to slightly damp hands and massage gently on to the skin. The cleansing gel will remove grime and pollutants. Rinse with a splash of water. 2 nd Cleanse: Repeat the 1 st cleanse but after rinsing, wipe the skin with a dampened Dermaviduals facial mitts until they come clean. Follow with corrective lotion if your skin therapist has prescribed one for you. You can wash your mitts with some antibacterial hand wash and leave to dry on a radiator. Every week they can be washed in a washing machine. 7

8 Corrective Lotions Our corrective lotions are a more than the old fashion toner. These lotions are specially designed to treat inflammatory skin conditions, which are the cause of Acne, Spots, Rosacea and Mild irritations of the skin. Your skin therapist can advise if your skin would benefit from using one of these products Dermaviduals treats the Cause of a Skin Concern, Not the Symptom. Soothing Lotion One of our most popular products, this versatile lotion effectively treats a number of skin issues. It can be used as a gentle cleanser on young teenage skins, or as a toner for problem skin: Sprayed onto damp cotton wool the process should be repeated twice. This lotion will soothe and calm red and inflamed skin. After cleansing with Cleansing Milk, spray the Soothing Lotion on damp cotton wool and wipe the skin twice before applying the appropriate cream. The Soothing Lotion also supports the prevention of psoriasis. A small amount should be sprayed onto the affected area 3-4 times daily. The Soothing Lotion comes in a handy 30ml size as well as the standard 150ml size. This can be popped in a bag and taken on flights. Spray directly onto a damp cotton wool to prevent the skin from drying out. It can be applied as often as necessary. 8

9 Corrective Lotions We have evolved from the days of Cleanse, Tone, Moisturise. Today s skincare is far more advanced due to the technology and a ground breaking engineering process. The Skin Care of today can change your skin. Ask your skin therapist how you can make your skin change. Remember Less is More. Moisturising Toner This special product soothes, calms and takes down the inflammation Rosacea, Sensitive and Reactive skins. It hydrates and refreshes the skin. After cleansing, spray liberally onto the skin and massage in circular motions. Moisturising Toner can be used as often as you feel your skin needs. It's refreshing and moisturising properties can be particularly beneficial after sun exposure; simply spritz directly onto clean skin. 9

10 Desquamation The natural process of skin renewal. The top layer of skin will shed as new cells differentiate up. In the past, scrubs and peeling products have been used unsuccessfully to speed up this process. But these overly harsh methods serve only to upset the natural oils in the skin. To address this problem, Dermaviduals created Enzyme Skin Renewal. It aids in the natural desquamation process of your skin by gently slough off dead cells as Mother Nature intended. Say Good Bye to Scrubs, Hello to Desquamation! Tip a tea spoon of the sachet in to an egg cup and mix with water in to a paste. Apply to the skin and massage gently. This treatment can be left on for up to minutes, or until hard. Rinse off thoroughly with cold water. For normal skin types, use once a week. For problem and spotty skin use 2-3 times a week or as directed by your skin therapist.. 10

Most lumps, bumps, spots, black heads and white heads are caused by too much dead skin (excess keratinisation) In modern day skin care we do not squeeze, pick or over clean the skin, the skin does not really appreciate that. Instead we slough off and unplug the dead skin while slowly re educating the skin to work as Mother Nature intended. For a deeper desquamation apply a thin layer of Treatment Gel on to clean skin prior to using the Enzyme Skin Renewal. Treatment Gel This problem-solver was created specifically for congested, uneven skin. Containing Acetoside and Berberin, which give it its anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial properties, this gel will loosen blocked pores, soothe and reduce lumps and bumps. Massage a small amount of Treatment Gel gently into the affected area once a day. Follow with Dermaviduals Hydrating Lotion or High Classic. 12 Classic Creams free of emulsifiers Conventional creams contain emulsifiers that can disturb the integrity of the natural skin leading to an increased loss of water within the skin. Emulsifier-free creams prevent the loss of natural barrier substances and thus avoid dry skin. DMS Derma Membrane Structure DMS creams are chemically and physically similar to the membrane structure of the natural skin barrier. Apply this cream to the skin before it is exposed to the sun and allow to absorb. Re-apply after sweating or swimming. Pure Green Tea A highly effective anti oxidant that can protect and repair the skin from the damages of UV rays. Apply neat on to clean skin before and after UV exposure apply your SPF or day cream afterwards. Pre Sun Serum and After Sun Cream The effects of UV light can age our skin.
