Streak BLUE CHIFFON plus a dot of ULTRA BLUE DEEP around the inside edge of the frame. 1

3 Painting Instructions: BACKGROUND Use the #10 FILBERT and flip-flop BLUE CHIFFON and a touch of WARM WHITE in the center lightly pounce with the damp make-up sponge to soften and blend. Flip-flop the darker shades across the bottom and half way up the sides using BLUE CHIFFON plus a touch of ULTRA BLUE DEEP and touches of BLUE MIST pat with the sponge to blend. Use BLUE SARAL PAPER to transfer the pattern. Lightly outline the bird with SOFT BLACK plus BURNT UMBER. LEAVES Outline and paint the stem and base of the flowers HAUSER DARK GREEN plus a dot of BLACK GREEN. Paint the leaves HAUSER MEDIUM GREEN shade with HAUSER DARK GREEN float and streak the edges and center veins with FOLIAGE GREEN plus a dot of LEMONADE float shading with BLACK GREEN - highlight the edges with LEMONADE. Base paint the brown stem with HONEY BROWN streak HAUSER DARK GREEN plus a touch of HAUSER MEDIUM GREEN along the bottom edge highlight with dots and streaks of ORANGE TWIST plus a touch of CADMIUM YEL- LOW dot this shade along the left edge of the large stem. FLOWERS Base paint with JACK-O-LANTERN ORANGE plus a touch of CADMIUM RED. Shade the base with CADMIUM RED plus a dot of SOFT BLACK bright red is CADMIUM RED. Float and streak the yellow areas with CADMIUM YELLOW plus a touch of ORANGE TWIST and CADMIUM YELLOW the stamen are WARM WHITE. HUMMINGBIRD Paint the tail and feet SOFT BLACK and float a spot at the base of the head on the back. Mix a dark yellow green with RAW SIENNA plus a touch of HAUSER DARK GREEN streak and paint the left and right side of the body and top of the head Mix a touch of WARM WHITE to some of the dark yellow-green mix and paint the stomach and center of the tail. Mix BURNT UM- BER plus a touch of BURNT SIENNA use a #1 SCRIPT LINER and streak around the eye streaks below the beak on the neck and the beak. Highlight the three neck strips with JACK-O-LANTERN ORANGE. Highlight the toes with streaks of TEAL GREEN. Make an orange mix of ORANGE TWIST plus CADMIUM YELLOW use a #1 SCRIPT LINER and streak the sides of the lower body and along the edges of the upper body, spots on the upper beak and around the top of the head add a few streaks of CADMIUM YELLOW plus a dot of WARM WHITE. Add a few TEAL GREEN streaks starting at the upper beak around to where the neck and head meet. Streak SEA BREEZE on the body and head. Paint the eye and define the beak with SOFT BLACK plus LAMP BLACK. Light feathers on the body are streaks of WARM WHITE plus a dot of CADMIUM YELLOW add a few lighter feathers and streaks and spots on the beak and head and dot the eye with thinned WARM WHITE use a ¼ RAKE to drag a few feathers over the toes. Line the tail with TEAL GREEN. Finishing: Finish with several coats of DuraClear Varnish Satin on both the frame and insert. Attach hardware to frame and insert the painted piece. 2
