In 1999, her 5000 square foot spa was sold, and Deborah purchased an 80-acre farm and began research into small batch manufacturing, herb processing and cosmetic product development. By 2003, she had completed additional courses in herbalism, botanical distilling and cosmetic formulation and soon after, launched Botaniko Skin with the inclusion of her hand made herbal and floral extracts. Deborah also holds several patents pending regarding her unique herbal extraction process and formulations, which are currently used in the wound care industry.

4 BOTANIKO Meet the founder I founded Stone Hollow Farm and Botaniko Skin in Botaniko Skin was launched in 2003 but was a bit too early, as the consumer did not yet understand the concept of handmade, small batches. We decided to pause and let the market catch up and re-launched the line in Today, my daughter and business partner, Alexandra, and I continue to operate 100% vertically integrated. We are the distillers, processors, manufacturers and inventors of Botaniko Skin, Stone Hollow herb and flower farm, Stone Hollow herb processing facility and the Botaniko Skin lab. We maintain complete control over the soil, plants, growing procedures, manufacturing of botanical ingredients, and cosmetic formulas. While this is an incredible amount of work, it enables us to maintain impeccable standards, rendering the highest quality ingredients and a sophisticated end product. Moreover, there are no aging inventory back stocks, as there is never more than a two week inventory level pre-made. This ensures you receive the freshest possible products. Shelf life of Botaniko Skin products is two years.

6 BOTANIKO Why we re different The foundation on which Botaniko skin is formulated is nature, natural elements such as botanical extracts, hydrosols and tinctures. We have replaced all water content with beautiful botanical and herbal hydrosols. We also acknowledge science has much to offer in the management of skin and aging, therefore combining fresh, powerful botanical extracts with select, safe cosmeceuticals, we believe we have developed a scientifically advanced, naturally effective, clinically validated line up of personal care products. For example, we co-distill organic lemon peels and lemon balm as a lightening agent in our lightening cream cleanser, which combined with alpha arbutin, is a powerful lightener and brightener. We love this combination, and it is allows us to avoid aggressive chemicals such as hydroquinone. We refer to this as the Botaniko Balance.

8 BOTANIKO skin therapy Balancing nature with current day cosmeceuticals. At the very core of Botaniko skin is our flower farm, Stone Hollow Farmstead, where we organically grow herbs and flowers. The farm is also home to our Botaniko Skin Lab where we produce herbal and botanical extracts, tinctures, hydrosols, and Botaniko skin and body care products. These farm fresh ingredients and our vertically integrated company allows Botaniko Skin products to be the absolute best of the best. Brilliance in formulations is our expertise. Reaching beyond our beautiful botanical extract arsenal, many of our formulas will also include proven, clinically tested, breakthroughs in the science / cosmeceuticals industry. 11 Botaniko Hydrosols True hydrosols: intentional distillation of fresh plant material distilled at low temps to preserve the bio available constituents contained within the plant. Also called hydroflorates, hydrosols are the water-based aromatherapy. They are similar to essential oils but less concentrated. Our artisan distillers brew plant material with well water in a specially designed copper distiller. As the steam fills the pot, the glands of the plant burst open and release the essential oils and total cellular essence of the plant. The rising steam transports the hydrosol through a cooling condenser and delivers it into a separate vessel. Friend, teacher, author, and Aromatherapist- Jeanne Rose: The best comes from a distillation where it is the hydrosol that is being produced rather than the essential oil.
