4 PHYCOSACCHARIDE MESO-LIKE & MESO-CARE DOUBLE EFFECT 1. «meso-like» Action This oligoalginate very rich in mannuronic acid is a very small-sized molecule, from whence its active penetration, enabling deep-down diffusion of its nanomolecules. 2. «meso-care» Action - As a preventive treatment it strengthens the skin s immune defense system. - As a cure, it acts directly on the inflammation process and inhibits it, thus immediately soothing skin that has undergone aggressive mesotherapy injections and reducing skin reactivity. - As a repair treatment: it promotes rebuilding of damaged tissues. 1. THE «MESO-LIKE» TREATMENT STRUCTURE OF THE ALGINATES (a) alginate monomers (b) alginate chain (c) sequence of the alginate chain From a chemical point of view, alginate is a linear polysaccharide composed of two monomers: - Guluronnate or GULURONIC ACID (G) with strong gelling powers - Mannuronate or MANNURONIC ACID (M), which is less gelling hence more penetrating than guluronic acid. Mannuronic acid being more interesting with regard to our meso-like objective than guluronic acid, two successive hydrolyses of the PHYCOSACCHARIDE are carried out to separate the molecules of mannuronic acid (M) and guluronic acid (G) and thus obtain the micro-molecules of mannuronic acid that are not linked together and will thus have greater penetration power. 2. THE «MESO-CARE» TREATMENT CALMING ACTION A test was carried out with lactic acid, under dermatological control, on 8 volunteers after a twice-daily application of a cream dosed at 5% of PHYCOSACCHARIDE for 28 days. CONCLUSION: Average skin reactivity was approximately 4.1 at D0 and 2.69 at D28 i.e. a 36% drop in the skin reactivity threshold. HEALING ACTION The PHYCOSACCHARIDE stimulates the division capability of the epidermal stem cells, thus preventing the formation of wrinkles. AN EX-VIVO STUDY was carried out on human skin explants cut with a scalpel, then placed into a culture with a 5% concentration of PHYCOSACCHARIDE. Along the cut site the keratinocytes stem cells located at the dermalepidermal junction divided and migrated towards the site of the cut to rebuild the epithelial matrix and close the wound. This is known as re-epithelialization. RETINOL H10 was added to human origin fibroblasts. Then the quantity of hyaluronic acid produced 48 hours afterwards was measured: one was able to observe a 75% increase in the production of hyaluronic acid (RETINOL H10 dosed at 0.5%), which had the effect of improving the skin s water content and smoothing wrinkles. 5
