Value the importance of knowing the use and availability of the implements, equipment, materials, and cosmetics to facilitate manicuring. 3. Perform the different tasks wherein the students will able to use their knowledge in manicuring. II. Values Integration: The students will develop the appreciation of knowing the implements, equipment, materials, and cosmetics before facilitate manicuring. III. Procedure Teacher s Activity A. Initiatory Phase/Routine Activity 1. Opening Prayer Let us start our day with an opening prayer to be lead by Student A. (The teacher will play the music) 2. Greetings Good Afternoon CSTCians! Ma am, some common nail problems are Weak or fragile nail, Nail stains, Nail biting, Nail shape, and White spots and ridges. Ma am, weak or fragile nails can remedy with the use of any of these nail products: Nail hardener, nail protein formula, nail treatment, and liquid nail wrap to strengthen nails. 6. Motivation I will play a video presentation that is related in our topic for today. We can do a lot and we can socialize well if our hands particularly the nails have good look, neat and clean. We should not to worry because, there are some ways on how to clean our nails. But before that, we need to learn first the basic things that are used in cleaning of the nails in order to avoid any hygiene risks. Activity This time, we will have an activity for you to familiarize on the different things that are used in Manicuring. I will group you according to your seats. This side will be the Group 1, the students at your back will be the Group 2, the opposite side of the second group will be the Group 3, and the remaining students are the last group. I will show you 20 words that are related in the video. In Answer Wall, each Group will write those words in a Graphic Organizers (according to the classification). The categories are the Implements, Equipment, Materials, and Cosmetics in Manicuring. I will give you 2 minutes to do and another 1 minute to check your work by the representative of the opposite group. I will show the correct answer before you check. The checking must be vice versa so, the

Tools in manicure have a classification according to their uses. They are not just tools otherwise, they are classified as Implements, Equipment, Materials, and Cosmetics. Are equipments and implements the same? Very Good! Why do you think that Implements dissimilar to Equipments? Precisely! Kindly read the meaning of Implements and Equipments. Thank you! What about the Materials and Cosmetics, are they similar? Very Good! Materials and Cosmetics are not the same. Can you give the contrast between Materials and Cosmetics? Precisely! Ma am, they are dissimilar in their purposes. Implements are tools that are needed for temporary purposes while Equipment are the tools that are necessary to support the manicure and these are permanently needed. Implements are the articles used in manicuring that are more or less durable while the Equipments are the items which are more or less durable and permanent needed for a particular activity or purposes. No, Ma am. Materials are usually came from recycle and necessary used to facilitate the manicure while the cosmetics add beauty to the manicure. Materials are also called consumable because they are consumed from time to time and also it is supplies that came from recycle materials

Ma am that is emery board or nail file. It is made of sand paper with rough file on one side. It has a rounded ends. Nail file is used to smoothen the nails.

(The teacher will show metal pusher and nail cutter) An emery board or nail file is used to shape and smoothen the free edge of the nails. Very Good! What did you observe in the metal pusher and nail cutter. Precisely! Give the purpose of metal pusher and nail cutter. Exactly! Kindly read the use of the metal pusher and nail cutter. Thank you! (The teacher will show orange wood stick) Ma am those are metal pusher and nail cutter. Metal pusher is made of metal with pointed on both ends while nail cutter is made of metal with two sharps blade to trim the nails. Ma am, metal pusher is used to loosen dead cuticle while nail cutter is used to shorten the nails. A metal pusher is used to push back or loosen dead cuticle while nail cutter or nail clipper is used to cut or shorten fingernails and toenails. Very Good! It is made of pointed and rounded ends. Ma am it is used to remove the polish around the cuticle nails.

Cuticle scissors are used to cut dead cuticles.

Face number one is for filing the nail edge, face number two is for removing the ridges, face number three is for smoothening the nail, and face number four is used to shine the nail. (The teacher will show a cushion) Ma am that is chair. During manicure, it is necessary to have two chairs, one is for the client and one is for the manicurist. Rubbing alcohol is used for sanitizing while nail polish remover is used to dissolve old polish on nails. Rubbing alcohol cleans the hands of the manicurist and the patron s hand before giving a manicure while nail polish remover or acetone is used to remove nail polish. Very Good! It is applied to soften the skin. Ma am hand lotion is used to soften the hand.

So, I motivate myself to learn manicure. I asked some experts and I also watched in the you tube on how to facilitate manicure. The Group 1 will make a role play showing how to promote those implements, equipment, materials, and cosmetics in manicuring. The goal of the Group 1 is to get the attention and interest of your customer to buy your products. Did you understand?
