1 About Face Color BY Candace Keefe Senior Vice President of Product Developement and Field Events Hello, I m Candace Keefe, Sr. VP Product Development & Field Events for Arbonne International. Welcome to Arbonne University. What we are going to be talking about is About Face. About Face is our color category at Arbonne. I m going to spend a little bit of time here because I want you to understand what makes us different in the marketplace. Cosmetics generally are made to add color or change the appearance of one s skin or face. It s just and enhancement to what exists. We have already created the beautiful canvas. We ve already ensured that we have the finest Pure, Safe, Beneficial products to make sure our skin stays looking beautiful. In the case of our color line, it s there to enhance. Like in all of our other product lines, we never deviate from our foundation, which makes our color line very unique. The emphasis is not only on beauty, but it is on benefits, too. The Basics We offer beauty and benefits in the About Face color line. Some of the basics I want you to know, again never deviating from our foundation and philosophy is that, our products are botanically-based. We incorporate herbs and botanicals in all of our products for beneficial results. We use no artificial dyes or fragrances. We don t mask things, we don t use artificial things, and we use the purest, safest, most beneficial raw materials. Our products are free of animal products and byproducts; there are no animal ingredients in any of our color products. We use micronized mineral-based pigments, and this is important because these are high quality, clear, mineral-based natural pigments. What you get from this is color clarity. You get colors that stay true, and maximum blendability, that lasts and doesn t flake. These high quality, micronized, mineral-based pigments, help colors stay true and do not flake and crease. You see again the high quality Pure, Safe, Beneficial ingredients that Arbonne uses in its products. What I also want you to know is that all of these products are certified vegan. Which means that they have gone through the process, been reviewed, and they have been certified as hav-

2 About Face Color by Candace Keefe Page 2 ing no animal ingredients or by-products. That s something that we are very proud of here at Arbonne. The other emphasis I want to put on our color line as we go through this is that it s not only elegant and simplified, but it s also completely customizable. So many products in the marketplace come with five, six or seven shades, when really you only want one or two of them. You don t have that choice. In the About Face line, all of our color between our blushes and our eye shadows are completely customizable. You get what you want. We provide the containers, either a customizable compact, customizable travel pallet, or the color compact that holds all of the colors. You choose what you want and you can put them into the compact that works for you. It s simple, it s elegant and it s customizable. Color Tones The other thing that we learned through our history is that color can be pretty scary for people. For a lot of people, it s second nature for them to be able to apply color, some people just don t know how to do it, or don t know what colors work best for them. We have been able to make it simple for our Clients and Consultants, and that is by simplifying the color selection base on tones. There is no guessing needed. It categorizes colors in the warm, neutral and cool tones. Warm tones are yellow and orange skin undertones. They work with green, brown, or hazel eyes, and red, brown or blonde hair. These people are generally classified as warm tones. When you look at that category of individuals, anything in the warm tone category will work for them. Any of those colors would be a perfect pick. Look at neutral. It s for fair, light, pink, olive skin undertones. They work with all hair and eye colors. When you look at the neutral color range we offer, these products are colorized for almost anybody. Anybody can use the neutral without looking like a clown. Sometimes you see people who put the wrong tone on, they can look like a clown. We want people to look naturally beautiful. In the cool category it s pink and blue skin undertones, blue, violet, or grey eyes, and blonde or brown hair. Again, if you have an individual that you re working with who has those skin tones, the cool colors are the best choices for them. We have simplified and educated people to skin tone and color, and that helps you pick the perfect color for every single person. It s easy, it s simplified, and again, it s customizable.

3 About Face Color by Candace Keefe Page 3 Antioxidants The other area that I touched on earlier is that our products are botanically enriched and talcfree. Our eye shadows and blushes use formulas with a colorless microbase to help. Where I talked about micronized natural pigments, we put them in a microbase instead of a talc base. What this does is give you really great support and blending. It also extends the wear. You don t get the creasing or the flaking. It prevents this both on the cheek and on the eyes, and all the colors when applied remain color-true. Talc-based eye shadows and blushes have a white base instead of a clear base, that s where you get that flaking and the inability to really blend the colors well. The other thing is that all of our formulas are focused and have antioxidant properties. Vitamins A, C and E in the herbs and botanicals help keep the colors from oxidizing, so that they stay color-true. Foundations We offer a complete line of foundations. We have three foundation formulas, so there is a foundation for everyone. We also offer 15 identical shades within those three formulations. The choice is yours, whether you want a matte finish, a dewy finish, or a powder finish. We offer a complete line of foundations in 15 shades, so that we can meet all of the skin tones and you can get the kind of finish that you want. There is SPF protection, and that wards off the effects of the sun. We have talked about that many times. Ninety percent of the visible signs of aging are due to the sun. That is why you want to ensure that you have a sun protection factor. We use transparent sunscreens, so there is no ashy effect on darker skin tones. Each of the formulas has a botanical complex, again beauty and benefits. Never deviating from our foundation, we want to make sure that we put ingredients in there that also offer skin care benefits. This by-product of the natural herbs and botanicals we use is rich in antioxidants, so we don t have oxidation. In the case of color products you see sometimes when foundation oxidizes on the skin over time, what started out as a perfect match in the morning, can look orange or like a clown in the evening. That is a by-product of the oils oxidizing. By having antioxidants in these products as a by-product of using herbs and botanicals, we are able to keep the colors very true throughout the day. All of our products have light-reflecting ingredients and they provide a flawless finish. This is why our foundations are very comprehensive in their approach to enhancing that beautiful canvas created through using our skin care products.

4 About Face Color by Candace Keefe Page 4 Finishes Let s talk about the finishes, because as I mentioned before, we have three complete lines and 15 shades in each. The first, About Face Line Defiance SPF 8, is a very emollient foundation. It is in a liquid base, and it in fact leaves a dewy finish for more mature dry skin. What you get from this is a vibrant, younger-looking appearance. When you see extremely dry skin, if you put a matte foundation on it, it enhances the appearance of line and wrinkles sometimes. In the case of Line Defiance SPF 8, it completes the look with a dewy finish on dry, mature skin. We have the About Face Luminous Color Wand, which is also an SPF 8. The wand offers a more matte finish. It is a thicker foundation in a stick form, but it gives a very dry matte finish. This is more for oily or combination type skins. What we get out of this is a product that leaves a very complete, flawless finish, but still offers a matte finish. It works really well on younger, oilier skin. Our newest introduction into the color line is a mineral powder foundation, which is an SPF 15. This is a very comprehensive approach to foundation in a very natural form. It doesn t have a lot of the raw materials used in the liquid or stick foundation. It relies primarily on powder to give you a flawless finish, and what this does is give you a complete coverage, matte finish, without adding an additional foundation. I think our consumers are really going to enjoy using this. These foundations can be incorporated and used together to enhance the foundation and to give you a more flawless finish. This foundation is also offered in each of the 15 shades and has an SPF of 15. Blushers The next category of products after you apply the foundation is the Blushers. A blush is simply to enhance the cheekbone, to give your face contour. Picking and selecting the right shade of blush is always most beneficial. I think this is where the most common mistakes are made in applying color. What you want to do is select a shade in a cool, warm, or neutral tone, and just apply it lightly below the apple of the cheek on the cheekbone. What this does is give you enhancement and contour without adding to much color. Our blushes are pressed with herbal and botanical ingredients, focusing on beauty and benefits, and also offers these clear, micronized pigments to give you maximum coverage, ultimate color clarity, and in the long run, a very natural look without adding too much of a powdery or flakey appearance. Concealers The next step is our Concealers. We offer a wide range of Concealers in four shades, for all

5 About Face Color by Candace Keefe Page 5 skin tones and types. Concealers are simply Concealers. They are not intended to be used as a foundation to cover the whole face. They are just used to mask small flaws, which we have very few, around the eyes, maybe a blemish or two, to contour around the nose, to give you that flawless finish that you re expecting. Again, we offer it in four shades, so that we can cover all of the skin tones and provide something for everyone. Finishing Powder Now that we have concealed our small flaws, let s look at a powder that leaves you flawless. It s pressed, it s loose and it s up to you. A powder can create a finish either when you use the loose or the pressed. It s long lasting, it s absorbent and it helps set foundations so that your color lasts longer. Pressed powders are convenient and easy. Their on-the-go packaging allows you to touch up throughout the day. A powder enhances a look, it finishes a look, it sets a look, and it touches up a look throughout the day. Eyes and Lips Brows Now we can get into the eyes and the lips. This is where you can have the most impact on changing your look. Whether you want a dramatic look, a neutral look, or just a simple look, color used on the eyes and the lips is where you can create the most enhancement. In this category, we offer to start with a longwearing brow wax, which helps control and shape brows. Now whether you want to add color or you just want to shape your brows, we offer four complete shades. This offers and maintains a well-maintained, groomed look. A darker color will add to sparse brows. It comes with an angles brush for precise application, and the broad range of colors offers something for everyone. From clear to auburn to brunette to blond, there is a brow wax shade that can enhance and there is a clear color that can just shape and contour. The brow wax truly offers that finished elegant look. It s important to incorporate that. You really need a product that can enhance and shape the brows, and keep it that way throughout the day. Moisturizing Pencils The next step is Moisturizing Pencils that help accent the natural beauty of lips and eyes. We

6 About Face Color by Candace Keefe Page 6 offer both lip and eye pencils. Now these pencils are botanically rich formulas, again not deviating from our foundation. They are easy to use and packed with their own sharpener. They are soft to the touch for easy application. They are not going to drag across your skin or hurt through application. They are very nice emollient formulations, and it s oils that help sooth and condition the skin, that help extend the wear, and give them that ease in application. Again, beneficial, antioxidants, avocado oil, there are some key elements in there that also make these beneficial as well as beautiful. Lash Color Our Lash Color is wonderful. We offer it in two shades: Brown/black and black. It is a thickening and lengthening lash color, with a precision brush. We took a comprehensive approach. When you look at the marketplace, and you look at all the competitive products, one lengthens, one curls, one thickens. We looked at all aspects of Lash Color. We put a thickening agent in there, naturally. We put a great base color foundation, with herbs and botanicals. We have also added a new revolutionary precision brush, that makes application easy, that lengthens and thickens lashes without clumping or running. Lip Color Our Lip Color comes in a cream or a gloss. It is whatever you prefer; we offer both lip glosses and lipsticks. We have also just advanced the formulas to include anti-aging elements. We all have concerns as we age with the fine lines and wrinkles around our lips. We have incorporated peptides to address these issues long-term. As you can see we have enhanced our botanically based, enriched lipsticks with peptides to combat the aging effects as we age, as the elastin and collagen diminishes around our lips. It is very new in the marketplace to incorporate in a lip product is revolutionary, and you will see long-term benefits. Prep & Plump TM I talked about, in the lipsticks, enhancing the formulations to include peptides, which are antiaging elements that help with those fine lines and wrinkles. Prep & Plump TM is a fabulous new introduction to the line. We have 10 shades, and it is a lip gloss product. It is revolutionary and different in that it comes in two steps. We have a prep, which is applied before the color. What that does is it gives us long-term and short-term benefits. In the prep side, what we do is we set the lips up for the color. In that side of the formulation, we include peptides and ingredients

7 About Face Color by Candace Keefe Page 7 for long-term benefits in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles around the mouth. On the plump side, we have put ingredients in that offer immediate plumping. You will be able to see in the before and after pictures on this that within ten minutes we had statistically significant change in the size of the lips, both visually and through measuring with calipers. This is a short-term and long-term beneficial product for plumping the lips, giving them beautiful color, and combating the visible signs of aging around the mouth as we age. It is an awesome product and one of my new favorite products in the color line, as well as the anti-aging lipsticks. Not only are we offering benefits, we are offering beauty, and we are giving you long-term and short-term benefits with this product. You will see enhanced, plump lips immediately and longterm, you will achieve this by using the product daily. Conclusion That sums up the About Face color line and I want to emphasize again that what differentiates us in marketplace is not only do we offer beauty, but we offer the benefits of herbs and botanicals and we offer the benefits of technologically-advanced formulations. We also offer the benefits of anti-aging raw materials and elements incorporated into each of the formulations, and we offer the sun protection factor, which is vital in combating the aging signs as we expose ourselves to the environment.
