The evaporates at a faster rate than the Cyc lohexasil oxane, giving a different balance between volatili- ty and spreading compared to straight. HRC-D0.65 Disiloxane (Previously Hexamethyldisiloxane) HRC-D0.65 is the shortest volatile linear silicone fluid (Hexamethyldisiloxane) with the fastest evaporation rate, the lowest viscosity and the lowest surface tension. Due to its low heat of vaporization, HRC-D0.65 evaporates from the skin without producing a cooling or stinging effect. HRC D0.65 can be used as a delivery system in antiperspirant/deodorant formulations. It helps to uniformly spread actives and pigments over the surface of hair, skin and sun care. It is largely used in color-cosmetic formulations to improve rub-in properties, reducing stickiness, and imparting lubricity and a smooth skin feel and is recommended for nail polish products. 04

The Addition cured hydrosilylation reaction The Addition cured hydrosilylation reaction of polysiloxane Hydrosilylation, also called catalytic hydrosilation, describes the addition of Si-H bonds across unsaturated bonds. Ordinarily the reaction is conducted catalytically and usually the substrates are unsaturated organic compounds. Alkenes and alkynes give alkyl and vinyl silanes. There are several reactive in addition-cured silicone materilas including polymers, a crosslinker, and a metal catalyst. The main component by weight is a carbon-carbon double bond(vinyl) terminated polydimethylsiloxane (VMQ). For the cure to occur, the silicone polymers contained in the elastomers must include a vinyl or other alkenyl functionality. Both high consistency and liquid silicone rubber products can employ the addition cure mechanism. Elastomers featuring this type of cure system are supplied as two-part kits: one part contains the catalyst, the other a silicon hydride-functional crosslinker and an inhibitor to provide working time once the two parts have been mixed. 22
