1 Presents the 3 rd Annual Miss Show Me State Pageant Date: Sunday June 25 th, 2017 Time: 2PM Location: Cowan Civic Center Theatre 500 East Elm Street Lebanon, MO, Age Divisions (We categorize according to age ON pageant day, June 25 th ) Teeny (1-2) Mini (3-4) Tiny (5-6) Little (7-9) Junior (10-12) Entry Guidelines: Contestants must be females between the ages of 1 and 12 Years to compete. There will be NO MAKE -UP on Teeny, Mini, Tiny, & Little contestants (clear or lightly tinted lipgloss is allowed). Junior age division is allowed AGE APPROPRIATE make-up. The judges are looking for natural beauty! Although you may use heat on hair to style there will be no hairpieces or extensions.

2 No swim-suits, or midriffs shown. No strapless gowns on Teeny, Mini, or Tiny contestants. If you are concerned about your attire please contact the director with a photo for approval. We do not place a lot of rules on our attire, but remember it is very important to keep outfits age appropriate! No glitz cupcake dresses. All formal wear dresses should be age appropriate. We do NOT want to see a lot of thigh from the contestants! Babydoll dresses are acceptable for Teeny and Mini contestants, but be very conscientious of length! No flippers (false teeth), colored contacts, spray tans, or false eyelashes (false eyelashes are only allowed on our Junior (10-12) Contestants. Contestant Numbers (given on pageant day) must be worn while contestant is onstage, either hip is fine. In the Teeny and Mini categories it is optional to have an adult on stage with the contestant. Contestant MUST be present for crowning to receive any awards. All awards will be forfeited if contestant is not present! If you are a QUEEN from the 2015 or 2016 Teeny, Tiny, Little, Junior, & Teen Miss Show Me State Pageants you will NOT be allowed to re-compete this year if you are still in the same age division. EXAMPLE: 2015 Teeny Miss Show Me State Queen is NOT allowed to compete in 2017 Teeny Miss Show Me State. IF she has aged up to the next age group, then she is allowed to compete in Deadline to enter is Saturday, June 10 th, ALL materials/fees must be turned in by that time, NO EXCEPTIONS! What are the areas of competition? Personality Wear/Fun-Fashion (50% of final score) : In this category the contestant should wear a stylish casual wear or runway style outfit of their choosing. This should be something stylish that speaks true to her individual personality! Both off the rack and custom outfits are allowed. Remember we do not allow swimsuits to be worn or midriffs to be shown. No strapless outfits on ages 6 and younger, no glitz cupcake dresses allowed. Handheld props are okay, NO large stage props are allowed, it must be something the contestant can carry on and off stage easily. Please keep in mind what is age appropriate for the contestant. This is the contestant s runway model superstar moment! Have fun with it! Formal Wear (50% of final score) : Formal wear is anything that makes the contestant feel like a princess. This can be as simple as a Sunday church dress, or as complex as a full-length pageant gown. No strapless outfits on ages 6 and younger, no glitz cupcake dresses allowed. We do not want to see a lot of thigh in formal wear!

3 What awards/titles are given? We award each of the following prizes in each age division. We will be announcing the following awards: Queen: Custom 5 ft. Tall trophy, Custom Embroidered Sash, Queen s Crown, & Queen s flower bouquet. 1 st Runner-Up, 2 nd Runner-Up, 3 rd Runner-Up, 4 th Runner-Up: Custom Trophy, Tiara, & flowers. Princess (Those who do not place in top 5): Tiara, 1 ft. tall trophy, & flowers. Miss Congeniality: Custom Trophy (Chosen by the pageant staff as the most polite/courteous) Most Photogenic: Custom Trophy (Given to the contestant with the highest photogenic score from provided head-shot). EVERY SINGLE CONTESTANT, REGARDLESS OF PLACEMENT, WILL RECEIVE A MINIMUM OF A 1 FT. TALL TROPHY, TIARA, AND FLOWERS DURING CROWNING. MORE AWARDS/PRIZES MAY BE ADDED AT A LATER TIME. PLEASE JOIN OUR FACEBOOK EVENT TO KEEP UP WITH THESE UPDATES. How much does it cost to enter? The entry fee for Miss Show Me State is $ This qualifies the contestant for all awards. If you are entering two contestants who are sisters you receive a $20 discount. Therefore, it is $130 for a pair of sisters to enter. If you are entering three contestants who are sisters there is a $30 discount. You can pay your entry fee online () via PayPal. We do charge PayPal fees. If you do not want to pay the PayPal fees, please feel free to snail mail a check to: Show Me Pageants 300 Fox Creek Road Rolla, Missouri, Is there an admission fee on pageant day? On pageant day there will be a $5 admission fee at the door for all spectators. Children ages 5 and under are free. The contestant is not charged an admission fee. Each spectator will be given a bracelet which must be worn in order to enter and leave the event. We only accept cash on pageant day, please come prepared. Are there dressing rooms at the venue? Yes! There is definitely space to get ready at the venue. We have a large dressing room available. There are two large professional make-up rooms with mirrors/lights/etc. that can each seat contestants. There is also a large common area which will have tables/chairs. There is no need to bring clothing racks, we have plenty for everyone, but we do not have excessive power outlets/mirrors in our common area, so please remember to bring your own

4 power-strips, extension cords, mirrors, etc, just in case! Please keep the number of people back-stage to a minimum! We prefer to keep it to one or two people per contestant. How much time do we have between presonality wear and formal wear? This totally depends on how many girls are in the pageant. Although I believe minutes is a safe time estimate. Why do we need to provide a head-shot? Your head-shot is used to judge photogenic. It is also the photo which will appear in the official program book. You can either snail-mail the photo (it will be returned to you on pageant day) or you can it to showmepageants@gmail.com. It is easiest for us to receive the head-shot in an . Head-shots should NOT be overly edited and contestants should not be wearing make-up in their photo if their age group is not allowed to wear make-up onstage. Photos will be printed in black and white in the program book, which is how the judges will view them. You may send photos in either black and white or color. If a photo is sent in color we will change it to black and white for the program book. Remember, we are looking for a natural beauty with an age-appropriate photo! You are welcome to choose your own photographer for your head-shot, but we would like to let you know about our official pageant photographer. Whether or not you use her will NOT affect your scores by any means. We aren't that kind of pageant. Our official pageant photographer is Paisley Prints Photography. Her head-shot sessions are very affordable, she is located in the Lake of the Ozarks in central Missouri and has taken headshots for national competitions. Please visit her facebook page for more information: What is the schedule on pageant day? 10:30AM - Noon: Open stage time for Teeny, Mini, and Tiny contestants ONLY. This is a great time for the contestants to practice their walks onstage. You can practice as many times as you want. We do NOT allow our older contestants to practice at this time, this is just for our younger groups. Older girls will have time to practice later. 12PM : Open stage time! Custom Contestant Buttons: Show support for your contestant by wearing a custom pageant button! This button will feature their name, age division, head-shot photo, and a border color of your choice. Buttons are full color, 3 in diameter, and $4 each. Order/payment deadline for buttons is June 10 th. These can be picked up at the registration table on pageant day. 7 Regulations/Consent Form 1. No Bad Sportsmanship will be permitted. Those conducting un-sportsmanlike behavior will be asked to leave the event without a refund, and in the case that a title has already been given, said title will be revoked. We would like to make this pageant a positive experience for all. 2. No refunds will be given unless the event is cancelled due to weather, a call which will be made by the director on pageant day. 3. The host venue (Cowan Civic Center) and the pageant director will not assume responsibility for any damaged, lost or stolen items or personal property. Also they are not responsible for any accidents, illnesses, or personal care of any contestant or contestant s family members or guests. They will not accept any liabilities caused by personal injury, accidents, or illnesses or medical expenses. 4. Judges decisions are their own opinion and decisions are final. Contestants or anyone in their party are not allowed to approach the judges at any time. Score sheets will be ed to contestants the week following the pageant. 5. Photography and video-taping is allowed, although you may not get in front of the judges, or distract them in any way. Show Me Pageants reserves the right to take their own photographs for future advertising and promotion, but will never sell or wrongfully distribute said photos. By signing below you are agreeing to the above rules and regulations. Form must be signed by a parent or legal guardian. I have read and fully understand the rules and regulations of the pageant. The pageant director nor the facility where the pageant is being held is in no way responsible for accidents, injury or theft that may occur before, during or after the pageant.
