1 Mannatech LIFT Ingredient Glossary Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer is an organic compound used to control the consistency and thickness of skin care formulations. Algae Extract is derived from various algae species and is known to moisturize, hydrate and condition skin. A clinical study has shown that a blend containing this extract hydrates the skin and reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.* Allantoin is an organic compound known to condition skin and soothe irritation. Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice Powder comes from the gel of the leaves of the aloe vera plant, Aloe barbadensis. Aloe gel is well known for its soothing properties and has been used for centuries to help moisturize and condition skin. Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP (vinylpyrrolidone) Copolymer is an organic compound used to increase the thickness of skin care formulations. Avena Sativa (Oat) Kernel Extract is derived from the kernels of the oat plant, Avena sativa. It has antioxidant properties and is known to condition skin. Clinical studies have also shown that oat kernel extract can improve skin firmness, moisturize skin and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Bis-PEG/PPG-16/16 PEG/PPG-16/16 Dimethicone is an organic polymer known to condition skin and can be used to control the consistency of skin care formulations. Butylene Glycol is an organic compound used to control the consistency and thickness of skin care formulations. This ingredient is used in a functional blend in Multiphase Serum acting as a carrier or wetting agent for the functional ingredients.

2 Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter) comes from the fruit of the Karite tree, Butyrospermum parkii. Shea butter is known to moisturize, hydrate and condition skin. C13-14 Isoparaffin is a mixture of organic compounds used to control the consistency of skin care formulations. Cananga Odorata Flower Oil comes from the flowers of the cananga tree, native to the Philippines and Indonesia, and is used for its natural aroma in skin care products. Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride is derived from coconut and palm oils and is used to control the consistency of skin care formulations. It is also known to moisturize and condition skin. This ingredient is also used in several of the functional blends in Mannatech LIFT products and it acts as a carrier or wetting agent for the functional ingredients. Caprylyl Glycol is an organic compound used to preserve the quality of skin care products and known to moisturize and condition skin. Cetearyl Glucoside is an organic compound used to control the consistency of skin care formulations. The origin of the vegetable starting material for this ingredient is palm, rape, potato, sunflower and corn. Cetearyl Olivate is derived from olive oil and is known to condition skin. Cinnamomum Cassia Bark Extract comes from the dried bark of the cassia plant, Cinnamomum cassia, and is known to condition skin. It is also part of a blend that has been clinically shown to have astringent activity and reduce the appearance of pore size.* Cinnamomum Cassia Leaf Oil comes from the leaves and twigs of the cassia plant, Cinnamomum cassia. It adds a natural aroma to skin care products.

3 Cinnamomum Zeylanicum Bark Oil comes from the bark of the common cinnamon plant, Cinnamomum zeylanicum, and is used for its natural aroma in skin care products. Cistus Ladaniferus Resin comes from the labdanum plant, Cistus ladaniferus, and is used as a natural aroma for skin care products. Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil is made by pressing coconuts and can be used to control the consistency of skin care formulations. It is also known to moisturize, hydrate and condition skin. Commiphora Mukul Resin Extract is derived from the resin of the small thorny plant, Commiphora mukul, known as mukul myrrh. It functions as a skin conditioner. This ingredient is part of a blend that has been clinically shown to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and increase skin smoothness.* Copaifera Officinalis (Balsam Copaiba) Resin comes from the copaiba tree, Copaifera officinalis, and is used for its natural aroma in skin care products. Corylus Avellana (Hazel) Seed Extract comes from the nuts of the hazelnut tree, Corylus avellana, and is known to condition skin. Studies show that hazelnut extract also has antioxidant properties. Crambe Abyssinica Seed Oil comes from the seeds of the Abyssinian cabbage plant, Crambe abyssinica. It is known to moisturize, hydrate and condition skin. Cyclomethicone is an organic compound that can be used to help dissolve ingredients in skin care formulations and is known to function as a skin conditioner. Cyclopentasiloxane is an organic compound that can be used to help dissolve ingredients in skin care formulations and is known to condition skin.

4 Cymbopogon Martini Oil is obtained from the herb, Cymbopogon martini, commonly known as palmarosa. It is known to condition skin and adds a natural aroma to skin care products. Dimethicone is an organic polymer that is used to control the foaming of skin care products. Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer is an organic polymer that is used to increase the thickness of skin care products. Disodium EDTA is a salt of an organic compound that is used to help preserve the quality of skin care products. Epilobium Angustifolium Flower/Leaf/Stem Extract is derived from the flowers, leaves and stems of the fireweed plant, Epilobium angustifolium. It is known to function as a skin conditioner and to soothe irritation. Ethyl Macadamiate is derived from the seed oil of the macadamia tree, Macadamia ternifolia, and is known to condition skin. Farnesol is a naturally occurring compound found in many plants used in skin care products for a floral aroma. Galactoarabinan, also called arabinogalactan, is a polysaccharide that comes from the bark of the Eastern and Western Larch trees, Larix larcinia and Larix occidentalis. Clinical studies suggest that galactoarabinan can help make skin appear more youthful. Glucosamine HCl is a salt of glucosamine. Clinical studies have shown that glucosamine HCl can hydrate skin and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil comes from the seeds of the common sunflower, Helianthus annuus, and is known to moisturize, hydrate and condition skin. Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil Unsaponifiables come from the seed oil of the sunflower, Helianthus annuus. This ingredient is known to moisturize, hydrate and condition skin. Sunflower seed oil unsaponifiables have also been clinically shown to smooth and firm skin. The term unsaponifiables is used to describe a fraction of the oil. Hexylene Glycol is an organic compound used to preserve the quality and control the consistency and thickness of skin care formulations. Hordeum Vulgare Extract is derived from the whole wild barley plant, Hordeum vulgare. Barley extract is a known skin conditioner and appears to have antioxidant properties. This barley extract is part of a blend that has been clinically shown to improve skin hydration.* Hydrogenated Olive Oil is obtained from the fruit of the olive tree, Olea europaea. 6 Hydrolyzed Myrtus Communis Leaf Extract (Myrtle Leaf) is derived from the leaves of the common myrtle tree, Myrtus communis. Hydrolyzed myrtle leaf extract has been clinically shown to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Hydroxyethylcellulose is an organic compound used as a film former and to control the consistency and thickness of skin care formulations. Jojoba Esters is a mixture of organic compounds derived from the seed oil of the jojoba plant, Simmondsia chinensis that is known to condition skin. Lauramidopropyl Betaine is an organic compound used to create the foaming action of skin care products. It is also known to function as a skin conditioner and cleanser. Laureth-7 is an organic compound used to control the consistency of skin care formulations. Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Flower/Leaf/Stem Extract comes from the flowers, leaves and stems of the lavender plant, Lavandula angustifolia. It is known to moisturize, hydrate and condition skin, and adds a natural aroma to skin care products. Linalool is a naturally occurring compound found in a number of plants and is used in skin care products for aroma. Malic Acid is an organic compound used to adjust the ph of skin care products. Medicago Sativa (Alfalfa) Extract is derived from the alfalfa plant, Medicago sativa. Alfalfa extract has been clinically shown to smooth the appearance of wrinkled skin.

7 Methylsilanol Mannuronate is an organic compound derived from seaweed that is known to act as a skin conditioner. A clinical study has shown that methylsilanol mannuronate can improve skin moisturization and hydration. Montmorillonite is derived from a mineral-rich clay. It contains minerals important for helping to maintain healthy, younger-looking skin, including silica, copper, magnesium and zinc. Clinical studies have shown that silica can help improve skin firmness, copper can help revitalize skin, magnesium can improve skin hydration and zinc can help protect skin against free radicals. Myristica Fragrans (Nutmeg) Kernel Oil is obtained from the spice nutmeg, Myristica fragrans. It is known to condition skin and adds a natural aroma to skin care products. Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil is obtained from the ripe fruit of the olive tree, Olea europaea. It is known to moisturize, hydrate and condition skin. Olea Europaea (Olive) Leaf Extract is obtained from the leaves of the olive tree, Olea europaea. It has antioxidant properties and is known to moisturize, hydrate and condition skin. Olea Europaea (Olive) Oil Unsaponifiables is an ingredient that comes from olive oil. It is known to function as a skin conditioner. The term unsaponifiables is used to describe a fraction of the oil. Ophiopogon Japonicus Root Extract comes from the roots of the plant, Ophiopogon japonicas, commonly known as mondo, or monkey, grass. It is known to hydrate and condition skin. Clinical studies have shown that mondo grass extract can soften and firm skin while helping to retain moisture. Palmitoyl Glycine is an organic compound that has been clinically shown to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Pogostemon Cablin Oil comes from the Patchouli plant, Pogostemon cablin. It helps add a natural aroma to skin care products. In the Exfoliating Facial Cleanser, it is in the form of a small bead that functions as an exfoliator, which washes off after gently exfoliating the skin. A clinical study has shown that a blend containing this extract improves skin hydration and locks in moisture.* Santalum Album (Sandalwood) Oil is obtained from the heartwood of the sandalwood tree, Santalum album. It is used in skin care products for its natural aroma. Sodium Carbomer is an organic salt used as a film former and to control consistency and thickness of skin care formulations. Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate is derived from coconut oil and functions as a skin cleanser. Sodium Hyaluronate is a naturally occurring polysaccharide found in the skin that has been clinically shown in individual studies to moisturize and improve skin hydration. This ingredient is found in several of the clinically studied blends in the Mannatech LIFT skin care system. Sodium Hydroxide is an inorganic base used to adjust the ph of skin care products. It is known to condition skin and have antioxidant properties. A blend containing the tomato extract has been clinically shown to improve skin hydration.* Sorbitan Olivate is an organic compound derived from olive oil and the sugar alcohol sorbitol. It is used to control the consistency of skin care formulations. Spilanthes Acmella Flower Extract, obtained from the flowers of the Spilanthes acmella plant, is known for its ability to condition skin. This flower extract is part of a blend that was clinically shown to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, provide short- and long-term improvements in skin smoothness, and firm and tighten the skin.* Stearic Acid is a naturally occurring fatty acid that is used to control the consistency of skin care formulations. This fatty acid can be derived from either animal or vegetable material; the Body Lotion contains stearic acid that is derived from vegetable origin. Tocopherol is a form of vitamin E that has antioxidant properties and is known to moisturize, hydrate and condition skin. Tocopheryl Acetate is a form of vitamin E that has antioxidant properties and is known to condition skin. Trehalose is a disaccharide made from starch. It is known to moisturize, hydrate and condition skin. A blend in the Multiphase Serum containing this ingredient was clinically shown to provide long-lasting moisturization.* Triacetin is an organic compound used to control the consistency of skin care formulations. Urea is an organic compound that is known to moisturize, hydrate and condition skin. A clinical study has shown that a blend in the Night Repair Crème containing this extract has been shown to hydrate the skin and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.* An additional blend in the Multiphase Serum containing this ingredient was also clinically shown to provide longlasting moisturization.* Vanilla Planifolia Fruit is the bean of the vanilla plant, Vanilla planifolia. Zingiber Officinale (Ginger) Extract comes from the herb ginger, Zingiber officinale, and is known to condition skin. FDA Cosmetic Labeling Definition for Incidental Ingredients: An incidental ingredient is any ingredient of another ingredient or processing aid present at an insignificant level and having no technical or functional effect. An incidental ingredient may also be any processing aid added and removed or converted to a declared ingredient. Here are descriptions of possible incidental ingredients in more simple terms: 1. An incidental ingredient can be present in the formula only at very, very low levels. 2. An incidental ingredient could be used to make an ingredient and then be removed. 3. A small fraction of a non-incidental ingredient might break down into another ingredient and the ingredient that it might break down into would be described as an incidental ingredient.
