2 Walters Angus Travis, Tiffany, Jaxen, Graysen and Drake Walters Hello and welcome to the 5th annual Walters Angus bull and heifer sale was another great year for pasture because of the ideal growing conditions.with this being our first calf crop of embryo calves and a 90% conception rate on embryo calves we were very excited to see what these calves could do once we got them out on grass. Let me tell you the end of August couldn't get here soon enough, we were ready to get these calves on the scale and see how they did. We were very surprised when our bulls averaged 940 lbs with a hand full of them weighing over 1000 lbs. And the heifers right at 775 lbs, with the calf crop birth weight average at 74 lbs. So already we were off to a great start. I've been saying this for the last 4 years but this is the best set of bulls and heifers we have ever raised. Not alone do these cattle grow well, they are stoutly made and built right and are 100% sound. They look great because they are great. In addition they have bred in superior carcass characteristics. This year we have a outstanding selection of bulls and heifers that will meet any cattlemen's needs from out in the pasture to in the show ring. They will meet and exceed your expectations. With the cattle prices what they are today there has never been a more opportune time to improve your herd. I feel 100% confident that when you purchase a bull or heifer from us you will be satisfied. And I am still convinced that good quality will still bring a fair or higher price, i'm a firm believer in you get what you pay for. Our top priority is to sell cattle that will help make you (our customers) hopefully push some for the higher standards of (Certified Angus Beef) CAB and making you more successful whether it be in the sale barn or in the feed yard. This group of breeding stock is sound, practical and bred to have a positive impact on your herd for years to come. This year I am also offering our complete commercial Angus Cow herd. We will be selling 30 of them, these cows are excellent mama cows you can breed them Angus or Cross them up either way you will get one heck of a calf. They are the foundation of my cattle herd i have sold very very many bulls and heifers out of these cows from anywhere to $3500 to $4800. Every heifer and bull that have came out of them i have kept for my production sale i have done really well with these cows. They would work great in anybody's operation. These cows are super gentle and sound. So how this will work is you will pay for them at the auction and i will deliver them in the end of august after we wean calves. And I will set them up and AI them for calving in the middle of February, they will calve in a 21 day calving period. We will AI half of them to HA Buckshot and the other half to Baldridge Waylon W34. Please if you have any questions about it don't hesitate to call. I owe a lot to both of them for there hard work and dedication i want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. Inspection of Bulls and Heifers: Cattle may be inspected any time at the farm south of Syracuse, NE. First Year Breeding Bulls: All bulls for $2500 or more will be covered 100% for the first breeding season. Breeding season is defined as the 90 day period following the first turnout of bulls. 100% of the value of the injured bull, minus the salvage value, will be given as credit in a future sale or toward a replacement bull if one is available. All bulls purchased outside the state of Nebraska will have to be Trich tested prior to PICK UP or DELIVERY. All bulls that are on the sale are guaranteed 100% to be fertile by Vogler Semen Centre. Even though we have a small angus herd of 20 cows I feel they are pretty rock solid. We like our cow herd easy fleshing with a lot of body and capacity that wil maintain being viable for 10 to 15 yrs of age. Even though were just putting two bulls in this sale offering you'll really like them. Our cattle perform well in the show ring or on a commercial ranch. Since last July of 2016 our cattle have perform enormoulys well: 4-2nd places at the National Junior Show, Grand Champion heifer at the Tri State Fair in Texaraka Texas, Division Champion Bull at the 2017 Fort Wort Livestock Show, and Calf Champion heifer last month at the San Angelo Livestock Show in San Angelo Texas. Starting out this sale, you ll see Lot 1, Fruhling Mainstrea, he is one powerfull indivdua! He has tons of performce with alot of eye appeal to go with it. R66 is the foundation cow of the polled side of our herd. She has produced herd bulls and a class champion pen of bulls at the NWSS for Stutheit Hereford Farm. R66 is a composite cow from top to bottom and front to back. She is currently owned by Stutheit Family Herefords in Johnson Nebraska. I was part of a group of five young entrepreneurs passionate about the beef industry. We drove from Lincoln, NE, to go see what was happening at Walters Angus. We learned about his operation and many other aspects of the seed stock industry, including his detailed feed ration, that allows his bulls and heifers to gain weight at an above average daily gain, yet keep the starch content low enough to keep the papilla in healthy condition and maintain the longevity of the animal. Last August I became Travis s intern from the University of Nebraska- Lincoln. I have done a variety of different jobs around the operation, but the coolest thing I have learned from Travis is his ability to have an open mind and try to bring about positive change.
