First off, we would like to extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who attended last year s sale and inquired about the cattle. We think anyone who has had a production sale at some point has had that resonating thought and fear of what if nobody shows up?! We could not be more pleased with seeing a combination of long-time customers, new faces, fellow breeders, neighbors and friends! It is an exciting time to be in the Simmental business! Simmental and SimAngus genetics are in high demand across the country right now for many of the traits they possess from bone and performance to udder quality and structural soundness. We have worked to look deeper into the qualities our females possess and to create matings with some of the leading bulls in the industry to make cattle that are functional, Dear Friends and Fellow Cattlemen, reliable and efficient while still carrying eye appeal and style. Over the years, we have put a strong emphasis on our mama cows being attractive in their phenotype while keeping a check and balance on their genotype. All cattle have to cover territory, whether it s in large pastures and rough terrain out west or the hills of southern Iowa. We want to keep the foot and leg structure correct in our breeding stock.
