3 seconden (110 seconds) sound piece, 2013 duration: 1min.50sec. The sound recording is 110 people count down in 110 seconds. The audio recording was specially made for Radio Voic a project by Floris Visser. Each week an artist is invited to fill the 1min. and 50 sec. voic that can be listen by calling the phone number of Radio Voic . Trinks has filled the seconds by counting down. The number of people is equal to the counted number. According each count one person in the group stops until there is one person left at the count of 1. Eat & Drink Diary photo / video archive / daily life intervention, in collaboration with Gabriëlle Barros Martins duration: approx. 40 hours During 3 years Gabriëlle and Ieke photographed everything they ate and drank. The act of photographing combined with capturing the sounds became a ritual part of their everyday lives. Dagboek Eten & Drinken (Eat & Drink Diary) shows the artist s fascination with everyday life and the consumption of food. It is a collection and archive of habits and routines. Besides eating and drinking the material shows something about the space, the background and the moment in which the photos were taken. Each picture represents a moment of daily life. 5 12. Stacking performance, 2013 duration 60 min. The space is empty. The whole action takes place between 8 and 9 p.m. At 8 p.m. the stackers bring in their items and pile it on the floor, each choosing their own spot near a light. The stacker starts stacking as soon she/he has gathered all her/his items. The stacker reduces her/his activities only to stacking and if necessary un-stacking. When the stack falls the stacker starts over again. When the stack touches the ceiling, the stacker unstacks and re-stacks. The stacker can use a chair or a ladder when the stack is getting too high. 6 11. Sing, Sync, Sink performance, 2013 duration: 20 min. In an empty lighted space a sound recording device connected to a microphone-stand is waiting. I position several objects, starting with a large cardboard box and one by one I take other objects out of the same box: a bucket of water, a bottle of water and a glass of water. I turn on the recorder and do an action with each object in line and turn off the recorder. Next I play the recorded sound in the space in a continues loop and position myself at the right spot of the action with the object. The following is that I change the order of the objects, this continues with my re-doing the actions exchanged with another object. The performance can be experienced as a musical score in which there is the excitement of being in and out of sync, objects getting worn out and water spoiled. 7 10. STEP BY STEP performance, 2013 in collaboration with Andres Galeano duration: 30 min. Want to know how to do, well just about anything? Ask google. In Step by Step, Andrés Galeano and Ieke Trinks spontaneously create a performance score in front of a live audience using seemingly random pieces of instructional information researched on the internet. Using the cut and paste function of their computers, instruction texts and how-to explanations are sorted and compiled into a dance choreography created for, and then performed by two non-dancers. The result is an unsettling and funny live performance that oscillates between conceptual demonstration and structured chaos. 8 9.Order of things performance, 2012 duration: 35min. As in the previous two performances (order of things #1 and #2) I start with a bag and take out a small audio-speaker-set and install it. I continue by taking object out of the bag until it is empty. This time I placed all the objects in a circle around me and recorded simultaneously my voice saying the name of each object. Afterwards the recording is played in a loop and each time by hearing the name of the object I pick it up and throw it in the air, each time a little higher. The order of the objects changes and during time spread over a large surface on the floor. Each object reacts in a different way, how it falls on the floor and by some the shape is changing. Each object requires another effort of treatment by throwing it and picking it up. 9 8. a thing after another performance, 2012 duration: 1hour10min. In the gallery I performed without bringing my own materials. Instead I decided to ask a bag from the audience and perform with the things taking out of the bag. When overyting is out of the bag I organized the materials and ask audience what belongs to what and finally start placing everything in one long line with in between adding other people s personal belongings. 10 7. Reconstruction of reconstructing a whole performance, 2012 duration: 30 min. The performance shows a theatrical reconstruction of a performance I developed in a one-month project in which the invited artists work on a specific location in Delft, the Netherlands. My starting point was to find traces of use and make an interpretation of the action that had been involved before hand. A small hole in the wall became the subject matter. In the theatre I re-enacted the performance by showing and explaining the audience what I did in that particular performance. 11 6. 9 Highlights 9 performances / installation, 2011 duration: 9 x 20 min. Registration 9 Highlights, 2011, group exhibition To All Tomorrows Parties, curated by Mariëtte Dölle and Bruno Listopad at contemporary art center TENT in Rotterdam. In the period from September 8 till November every Sunday 2 o clock I performed 9 Highlights in a setting consisting of 9 identical tables with identical objects and 1 chair. Every Sunday I placed the chair behind one of the tables and cut a short piece of the chairs its legs. Each week I repeated the same score of actions, every week on a lower chair. The performance and changing installation was part of the exhibition To All Tomorrows Parties curated by Mariëtte Dölle and Bruno Listopad at contemporary art center TENT in Rotterdam.

12 5. Understanding misunderstanding performance, 2011 duration: 30 min. I first write an action and then literally perform the written text. Gradually I change the names of the objects during my action and keep on performing repeatedly the description-text. 13 4. Anything performance, 2011 duration 30 min. Registration Anything 2011, at PUC/SP University, Sao Paulo, Brazil. Invited by Professor Lúcio Agra at the performance study class I use the furniture and the sandwich you can buy in the canteen. I change the order of things starting with a sandwich by switching the cheese with the ham. Slowly I expand this by using the napkin, furniture and clothes. When the used materials are disorganized I reorder until each material and object is placed back in the original order. 14 3. I like to educate myself performance, 2010 duration: 15 min. I like to educate myself presents a composition of actions that bring learning into practice. Different types of learning techniques are explored, such as observing by changing perspective, challenging muscular movement and testing social skills. In a society in which educational systems are highly appreciated, I want to point out the value of life itself as an educational substitute. Naming & Labelling public participatory performance, 2009 in collaboration with Hilary Ramsden duration: 1 day Naming&labelling is a participatory activity where we ask passers-by to name and label as much as possible within a taped-off area of the facade of a house. This is an urban intervention. This activity invites people to take a closer look at what is around them and to think about how we name and categorize the world around us. Every Action Deserves the Necessary Attention participatory performance 2008 duration approx. 4 hours, Each participant is charged with a single function, they are asked to follow the instructions on the handed script. The script is an instruction of the action preparing a soup. This action is made out of several movements. These movements are arranged into several different functions, i.e. cutter, turner, washer, positioner, etc., of which the various procedures of the diverse functions are written out. Each function takes charge of a particular detail in the series of the soup-making actions. All the functions are needed in order to accomplish the whole action.
