2 Well, it s sale time again and we want to invite you to our 7th Annual MCC Power Plus Production Sale. It seems like we were just planning our first sale at the farm and are now getting very close to having another one. Last year, we made the decision to have it at the farm and we were glad we did it. We ended up having great weather and the cattle looked better and more relaxed in their familiar environment. We hope to keep the sale as the 2nd Wednesday in March going forward. Last year, we ran into a conflict with the annual township meetings and are hoping to accommodate more of our customers with this date. Jay, Tara, Tanner & Garrett Mertens We have the same guest consigners again this year. Dan & Tammy Mikkelson, Mark & Trista Mikkelson, Darin & Lesa Mertens & Harlan Bohn. We are selling yearling and 2yr old bulls along with open replacement heifers. We are very happy with how the sale cattle are looking and hope you will agree. We have been spending a lot of extra time with the cattle lately due to pictures and videos and ultra sounding and we feel we have a nice set to offer. Semen Interests / Bulls Semen Tested: Mertens Cattle Company will retain 1/3 semen interest in all bulls selling. Scrotal measurements and bull ultrasound date will be available sale day. Health Program: Dr. Joe Sousa at Dakota Valley Vet provides us with all of our vet needs. All cattle will be accompanied by proper health certificate for shipment. Trucking: Free delivery of the bulls for the first 200 miles and actual cost of the rest of the trip. We would like bulls delivered as soon as possible after April 1st. 4 We feel we have a good set again this year. We didn t creep this year so you will notice the 205 day adj. weights are a little less. The weather was also a challenge after weaning as I m sure you can all relate to and we feel that is why they seem greener also. The quality is still there and a new bull catches our eye every day in the pen. Lot 1 is the full brother to the high seller last year. Lot 32 is a full brother to the high seller in This is the first year we will have calves out of our herd sire SAV Rocketeer They are very heavy muscled with a great look. We are excited to offer them to you and see how they develop. We don t have as many Renown sons this year as we had hoped we would, as we ended up with more heifers out of him. I guess that isn t all bad as they will hopefully produce some high quality bulls in the future. We are also offering a few 2 year old bulls this year, so if you are in need of a more mature bull, check these out.
