Established in 2002, the La Rocca Bursary Program is administered by the. About the The was formed to, inter alia: (i) establish and promote the La Rocca Bursary Program, (ii) organize cultural and recreational events that are consistent with the corporation s mission, objectives and values; and (iii) promote public interest in the history of Alberto La Rocca. The is managed by a volunteer Board of Directors, all of whom are past La Rocca Bursary recipients who continue to make wonderful and inspiring contributions to their communities. The Bursary In 2015, the Board of Directors of the has authorized the award of up to 10 bursaries. The La Rocca Bursary consists of: (i) a cash award of $250.00; (ii) a commemorative medal; and (iii) publication of the recipient s name and photo on our website. In cases where bursary winners are graduating high school in the year of receipt, bursaries will be presented personally to the recipient at the winner s high school graduation ceremony when possible. In all other cases, bursaries will be presented, when possible, at an equivalent public event.

2 ALTRUISM SERVICE LIFE Criteria Page 2 (2003) (2004) (2005) (2006) (2006) Successful applicants will have demonstrated an ongoing commitment to: (i) altruism (selfless acts), (ii) service (caring for others), or (iii) life (the primacy of life). To be eligible to receive the La Rocca Bursary, applicants must: 1. be between the ages of as at May 4, 2015; 2. be a resident, attend school full-time, or actively participate in a group within the City of Vaughan; 3. have not previously received a La Rocca Bursary., B.A.S (2007) (2010) Note that for individuals to be considered for the La Rocca Bursary, volunteer involvement in the must be significantly more than the minimum -service requirements of the Ontario Ministry of Education. Applicants should note that a recipient from each school or group is not guaranteed; bursaries will only be awarded if requirements in the rubric have been met to the satisfaction of the (a copy of the rubric has been enclosed with this application package). Selection Process Each year, the Board of Directors sets the number of awards to be distributed for the year, adopts selection criteria, and delegates selection responsibility to the Bursary Award Selection. The meets in May of each year to review applications and select recipients in accordance with the selection criteria. Decisions of the are final, binding and not subject to review.
