1 event concept Kilimanjaro Sunset Safari The grasslands sway as winds blow across the savannah, offering relief to herds of animals roaming the expansive African Veldt. Along rivers and on rocks, and beneath the shade of trees, a menagerie of wild animals are lazing or grazing as the sun sets in the west. Now at dusk, your Guests are on trek with Kilimanjaro Safaris, entering their open-air safari vehicle to set off across more than 100 acres of African savannah. Traversing shallow rivers, sparse forests, rocky mounds, and the open country your convoy follows the trail of lions, elephants, giraffes, crocodiles, and hundreds of free-roaming indigenous animals. Some are skittish and hide, peeking through the golden grass, others blink doe-eyed beside the path and peer into your eyes. Still others stand tall and proud on the hill, just out of reach. The beauty and diversity of the wildlife underscores the message of conservation and co-existence. Their first journey complete, your Guests now travel by foot along a winding path. Soon they ve crossed an entire continent to find themselves among a collection of ancient pavilions within Flame Tree Gardens. Awed by the intricate woodwork and colorful accents, they take in the unique beauty that surrounds them. Lily Pads float on the calm waters of the reflecting pool, gentle waterfalls trickle into a stream, and branches on the shores of the softly flowing Discovery River part to reveal the majesty of Mt. Everest. There is more here than meets the eye. The craftsmen who created this sanctuary have spun stories into each pavilion, with the tale of predator versus prey revealed in the tables, chairs, lanterns, and latticework. Guests mingle beneath the bamboo, watching the softly flowing Discovery River while sharing impressions of their safari experience. The comforting sounds of waterfalls, the tinkling of brass bells in the branches of silk-laden prayer trees, and the ringing tones of a tropical steel drum add just the right touch to the evening. 2 event concept Kilimanjaro Sunset Safari The event may also take place in Tamu Tamu Courtyard, where your Guests are greeted with a heartfelt Jambo! (a traditional Swahili welcome) as they enter the exotic bazaar. They realize now that their African adventure has just begun. They marvel at the whitewashed walls and reedthatched roofs and see that the stage is set for an evening filled with mystery and enchantment. Storytellers are sharing ancient tales in the Tamu Tamu Courtyard while the rhythmic and percussive sounds of the African trio Wassalou rekindles the energy of your group. In either location, great care has gone into the lavish buffet placed before them as Disney s culinary department presents an appetizing assortment of eclectic delicacies inspired by the flavors of Africa and Asia. Drinks, which may include beer and wine as well as full premium brands and specialty drinks, add to the elegance of the event. 3 Sample Timeline: 7:00 p.m. Guests arrive at Disney s Animal Kingdom Theme Park where they are met by Event Guides and escorted to Kilimanjaro Safaris. There, they will enjoy the last safari of the day. 7:30 p.m. Guests enjoy a private event either at Flame Tree Gardens or Tamu Tamu Courtyard to include: Buffet Dinner (1½ hours) Beverage Service Entertainment (elements vary in set time and length) 9:00 p.m. Event concludes. 4 Enhancements: It s Tough to be a Bug! The park icon, Tree of Life, is home to an exciting experience with some of the world s smallest creatures BUGS! Within the tree is a 430 seat 3D film/ special effects theater for the showing of It s Tough to be a Bug!, a humorous and exciting adventure in the miniature world of insects. Be prepared to laugh! This attraction will be available all evening for your Guests pleasure. Animal Encounter What better way to entertain and educate your Guests about the conservation of wild animals and wild places than to experience it firsthand! Our world-renowned Animal Programs team can present a variety of small mammals, reptiles, birds, or exotic insects to create a truly unique, up-close animal experience. In addition, each Animal Encounter will also benefit the study and protection of wildlife and eco-systems with $50.00 going to Disney s Worldwide Conservation Fund. Animal Encounters are available for events until 8:30 p.m. Disney Characters Transform your event from the ordinary to the EXTRAORDINARY with the excitement and magic of beloved Disney Characters. Prices vary based on number of Characters and length of appearance. Artisans These authentic artists demonstrate crafts which have been handed down through the ages. As he or she creates the masterpieces, your Guests will see how each craft enhances day-to-day life typical in an East African port village or from the islands in the Caribbean. Disney 0817mb Page 4

5 Enhancements: Strolling Acoustic Guitarist Enjoy the best of comedy and music with this multi-talented performer, who tickles you with humor while entertaining you with the Guitar. Typical performance consists of three (3) strolling sets, each up to 45 minutes in length. Atmosphere Actors During your event you are sure to encounter a few of the legendary locals, just back from Safari. Among this eclectic bunch are well-known explorers, zany research scientists, thrill-seeking tourists and exotic animal enthusiasts. These interactive actors bring a little life to your event with their wacky antics and wild stories in search of Africa s natural wonders. Royal Drums of Africa - Mor Thiam His name is Thiam (pronounced Chom) which means historian in his native language. Mor Thiam is a descendant of the Dragon Tribe of Senegal and was born to a family of historians who use the drum to tell the story of the Wollof people in Senegal. Master Drummer, teacher and performer, Mor Thiam has been performing since he was a child. Royal Drums of Africa - Tam Tam Congo - 5 piece Tam Tam is the French word for drum or gong. In Congolese Central Africa, the language has a significant role in ancient African philosophy of communication through music to cure, unify, and entertain the community through vibrant, energetic song and dance. 6 Enhancements: Cigar Rolling Demonstration A lost talent is demonstrated before your Guests eyes as this individual rolls genuine Cuban cigars. Complete with an expert host knowledgeable in cigar making history. Cigars must be purchased in advance for distribution to your Guests. Cigars, Hand Rolled (additional) These cigars have been hand rolled and cured in advance for your Guests. Caricature Artist It s a fun and memorable way to add an artistic flare to any event. (Approximately eight (8) black and white per hour/four (4) color per hour) Face Painter, Standard Our artist will paint a variety of fun and colorful images on your Guests grinning faces! (Approximately 20 faces standard per hour) Mystic Fortune Teller People always want to know what their future holds - even if it s just for fun. 7 Enhancements: Tattoo Artist (Temporary Airbrush & Waterslide) Tattoos unlike any other! These temporary tattoos are either airbrushed directly on the skin with special body art inks (which can include glitter and glow-in-thedark tattoos), or applied directly by waterslide. With designs available for adults and children, your Guests can choose the perfect one to fit their personality. Each artisan can apply approximately 30 airbrush or 60 waterslide designs per hour. The finished product looks just like a real tattoo and will last 3-7 days. All tattoos are safe for all skin types. Candid Documentation Package (up to 2 hours) Capture speakers, candids, and general event coverage. This package is intended for documentations purposes only, and in not intended for Character greetings. Presentation Sound System Package includes mixer, speakers, CD player for background music, two (2) wireless handheld microphones (or lavalieres, if requested), and podium (if requested).
