2 JOSEF KRAMER Josef Kramer got the nick name and was known as " ". He became the commandant at the Bergen- Belsen concentration camp in his young ages. He became the assistant of Rudolf Hoß at the famous death camp Auschwitz in 1940 and later became the commandant there. 4 years later he was the man in charge. He was put on trial and put in the Hamelin jail for killing thousands of people He was hung after facing trial for crimes against humanity.

4 EARLY CAREER Josef joined the Nazi party in and joined the SS in and worked as a prison guard In 1934 he was transferred to as a prison guard, but was rapidly promoted He gained posts at Sachsenhausen and Mathausen He was later transferred to assist Rudolf Höß at Auschwitz He was later named of Nazweiler-Struthof in 1941
5 THE BEAST OF BELSEN Josef Kramer got this nick name for many things he did during the holocaust. He received this while in, because he was despised for his heinous acts. Belsen was the concentration camp he worked at where he was responsible for thousands of lives. His methods of death include, but not limited to, firing squads, and gas chambers.
6 NATZWEILER-STRUTHOF He was the commandant of Natzweiler-Struhof This was the only concentration camp in territory during the war. At this camp he carried out gassings of many Jewish men and women In total about Jewish people were gassed. Some of these that he managed were selected to be anatomical specimens, and were sent to Auschwitz to be studied.
7 AUSCHWITZ Kramer became the captain of Auschwitz in but later transferred to Auschwitz II-Birkenau, which was the main killing center of the Auschwitz complex. He managed the gassings of all new transports, and participated in the selection parades. He was seen beating inmates who would not get in the truck to be transported to be gassed. He became known as a harsh taskmaster, to the point of which his doctors would fake being sick to avoid some of his orders. After this he was transferred to Bergen-Belsen
8 BERGEN- BELSEN Kramer was transferred in late to Bergen-Belsen from Birkenau Belsen was originally the transport center for those leaving Germany. He was so neglecting to his inmates, of them would die per day to typhus, rather than being executed. Near the end of the war, roll calls stopped and inmates were attacked by, and too weak to defend them. Most died.
9 TRIAL AND EXECUTION After the fall of the Nazis Josef Kramer was arrested and imprisoned at the Hamelin jail. He was tried along with others in the Belsen trial The trial was taken place in a military court at Lüneburg It lasted several weeks from After testimony, he was found guilty for crimes against humanity and sentenced to death on November 17th, 1945 He was hung by Albert Pierrepoint on December 13th, 1945

11 JOSEF KRAMER (CONCLUSION ENGLISH) Kramer was a young boy who joined the SS and worked his way up the ranks until he commanded and ran concentration camps. He committed many crimes against humanity and executed many innocent people throughout his days with the Nazis He continued this until he was arrested and tried He was hung for his crimes against humanity on December 13, 1945
12 INTERESTING FACTS He killed around an estimation of 1,000-2,000 people. More prisoners under his rule died of natural cause like disease instead of being killed. In his trial he pled himself not guilty to his charges and tried to escape prosecution. He joined the SS when he was only 27. He died at age 39
