5 Dear Friends and Colleagues, My grandfather, David Rockefeller, and Robert and I welcome you to the Living Legacy VII sale! Our offering of cattle is as deep this year as ever and we look forward to sharing good times and genetics with you once again. Please join us for the presale party at the Rockefeller Playhouse on Sunday evening, October 23rd. Brunch will be served the next morning and the sale will begin promptly at noon on Monday, October 24th has been a year of highs and lows for us at Hudson Pines. Many of you are probably aware that we lost one of our dear friends this year when John Pyne passed away in the spring. John was a wonderful man who had managed Bartlett s Island Farm and was an essential part of our team for many years. Personally, he was a close friend of mine and the first person to really teach me how to see cattle. I miss him very much. In addition, we were sad to see Ben Wheeler, our talented herdsman, leave Hudson Pines to be closer to his home in Ohio. However, we are thrilled to welcome Jeff Queckboerner and his family to New York from Illinois. With John and Cheryl, Ryan and Megan, Casey and Amber, Jeff and April, Chan and Tonya, Keith and Lindsay, and Josh and Angela, we are truly a family of families! Everyone pitches in, and we are grateful for all of the warmth and support that these friends and employees bring to our adventures in raising cattle. As for life in the ring, we are thrilled to be able to report that Hudson Pines was awarded Premier Breeder and Premier Exhibitor at the 2010 North American, Premier Breeder at the 2011 National Western Stock Show, and Premier Breeder and Premier Exhibitor at the recent Simmental Breeders Sweepstakes in Louisville. In addition, along with many other customer successes, the heifer that was purchased out of last year s Living Legacy Sale by B&K Farms and Arnold Farms of Tennessee, HPF Queens Supreme X321, was awarded Supreme Champion at Sweepstakes congratulations to everyone! Finally, Robert and I would like to announce the newest addition to our little herd. Miss Aedan Lily was born on July 1st, healthy and tiny at 5 pounds 13 ounces.
