Both Microblading and Semi-Permanent Make-up (SPMU) are types of micropigmentation and are currently enjoying a significant increase in popularity. Microbladed brows have a unique hair stroke look and we teach a very natural European look to enhance your clients features. Semi-Permanent Make-up is applied by machine and offers a wider range of longer lasting treatments. Brow Microblading is performed with a hand held microblade pen and our LCN organic pigment range. The cost of the treatment for both you and your client is lower too. Microblading implants pigments into the upper layer of the dermis and will last for between one and two years. SPMU implants pigments deeper into the dermal layer of the skin and will last for several years. VTCT LEVEL 4 AWARDS AND RECOGNISED PRIOR LEARNING (RPL) The BCI Training Centre is VTCT approved to offer Level 4 Awards for both Micropigmentation and Microblading. The Awards are also available with RPL for already qualified Technicians. ADVANCED TECHNIQUES Many of our SPMU Technicians wish to continue their education to learn more advanced and paramedical treatments like scar camouflage and post-surgical areola reconstruction; treatments which give you the opportunity to make a real difference to people s lives. Although offered through the NHS, these treatments are not always available due to funding issues. Many clients also prefer to have these treatments from an Aesthetic Beauty Practitioner at their own convenience. She has over 30 years of experience in the Beauty Industry, both in the UK and abroad. Teresa qualified in SPMU at The American Institute of Intradermal Cosmetics in Texas, USA in 1999, she holds a Certificate in Education and is a VTCT qualified Assessor. She keeps our team up to date with all the latest trends and techniques and has a great passion for her work. 4 LCN SPMU MACHINES SMART DELUXE This is the perfect entry level machine, popular with our college students. It is user friendly and offers great precision. The individually adjustable needle frequency, up to 120 strokes per second, guarantees mildly invasive pigmentation with a low selected penetration depth. There are 6 needle choices for this machine as well as the 18 point microneedle attachment. SMART DELUXE STARTER SET - 1,300 (ex VAT) A small product package is included with the machine, including enough needles for 10 treatments. TITANIUM 2 A light and compact unit that is very quiet with only minor vibration. The modern design base station has electronic controls that deliver total precision. The individually adjustable needle stroke ( strokes per second) guarantees mildly invasive pigmentation with a low selected penetration depth to provide excellent aesthetic results with optimal permanency. There are two hand piece connections so you can have different colours and needle configurations at the ready. There is a total of 12 needle choices as well as the 18 point microneedle attachment. The SensiDrive function measures the skin s resistance and can, in addition to the extension of the needle and the hub frequency, adjust the power of penetration. The module recognition function makes it possible to show the needle configuration on the display, facilitating a precise workflow. For SPMU the maximum number of students per trainer is 3, for Microblading it s 4. On basic skills classes, we provide models for you to work on in addition to synthetic skins. 6 ESSENTIAL MAKE-UP COURSE 1 Students who are not qualified to L2 or above or who do not hold a recognised make-up certificate are required to attend our Essential Make-up course prior to attending their SPMU or Microblading course. You will learn how to identify potential dangers and how, with basic good practice, you can stay safe and increase the trust of your clients. This course is HSE accredited and you will be issued with a separate certificate upon its completion. 8 BCI & VTCT LEVEL 4 DOUBLE AWARD 4 ENHANCING EYEBROWS WITH MICROBLADING TECHNIQUES VTCT Course BT4C2 for Qualification Code 603/1305/5 - Information for Novices This is a standalone course and no formal entry requirements are set by VTCT except that the learner must be over 18 years old and be confident in spoken and written English. Learners should be aware that there is a lot of written work, independent study and a portfolio of 10 case studies to complete within approximately 3 months from registration. Learners must be in a position to complete all the practical work required before they start the VTCT Award. The VTCT qualification is made up of the following mandatory units. To gain the award you must complete all units as well as producing a portfolio of case studies, a written portfolio and an external final examination and assessments. Introduction to Level 4 Award in enhancing eyebrows with microblading techniques, anatomy and physiology, client consultation and expectations, brow shaping services, portfolio building. Introduction to home study of part 1 of training manual and completion of tasks. * Minimum of 2 weeks between these 2 days and practical work is required for ongoing study. Days Practical microblading on synthetic skins & models provided (in class). Introduction to microblading, colour theory, pain control and equipment. For full course content please refer to page 7 of our training prospectus. BCI Part 1 written exam paper. * 8-10 weeks - Independent work at your salon. Portfolio building and case studies x 10. 10 VTCT LEVEL 4 AWARD WITH RPL 5 ENHANCING EYEBROWS WITH MICROBLADING TECHNIQUES VTCT Course BT4C2 for Qualification Code 603/1305/5 - Information for Microbladers wishing to gain this qualification through Recognised Prior Learning (RPL). RPL is available to all microblading technicians, regardless of where they have learned their skills. Learners must provide evidence of prior learning for mandatory units but the A&P is at a Level 4 standard and refers directly to the treatments being taught and it is obligatory to attend these classes. Learners will also have to produce written assignments in their portfolio and all will benefit from the tutor guidance offered on this programme. 4 practical assignments are also mandatory. During the RPL process you will have access to your tutor by phone, or skype, as required, in order to fully support you while you complete this award. 12 LCN SEMI-PERMANENT MAKE-UP TECHNICIAN 6 This course is designed for anyone who is new to the beauty industry, qualified beauty therapists and medical professionals. As well as in-depth theory, you will learn to tattoo eyebrows, eyeliner and lip liner and work on live models as well as practice skins. About your course 5-day course: Days 1-4 taken together with Day 5 taken approximately 6-8 weeks later. On-going assessment and evaluation throughout your course; all parts must be passed in order to gain your qualification with us. 10 models provided for part 1 of your training and 3 for your assessment. 15 VTCT LEVEL 4 AWARD WITH RPL IN MICROPIGMENTATION 8 VTCT Course AB40168 for Qualification Code 600/3288/1 - For SPMU trained, Level 3 Beauty Therapists wishing to gain this qualification through Recognised Prior Learning (RPL). If you have a minimum qualification of Level 3 Beauty Therapy, or an equivalent qualification, and are a trained SPMU technician, you can achieve your Level 4 qualification in Micropigmentation via a process called Recognised Prior Learning or RPL. Using the RPL process you can utilise your past learning experiences and certificates to prove your knowledge and experience. The VTCT qualification is made up of the following mandatory units. All units must be completed in order to gain the qualification as well as producing a portfolio of case studies, a written portfolio and practical assessments. UV40462 Management of Health, Safety and security in the salon. UV40464 Quality Management of Client Care in the Hair & Beauty sector. UV41034 Enhance appearance using micropigmentation techniques. During your interview with our trainer, we will identify which areas of the above units can be covered with your existing qualifications and which units you will need to complete in your portfolio in order to complete the whole award. We will identify any gaps in your education and skill level and advise you of any additional training requirements as necessary. This training can be taken with BCI or at a school of your choice. You will be required to compile a portfolio of work mapped against the range of treatments in the VTCT student workbook. This will be explained to you on registration. You will also be required to complete a minimum of 3 practical assessments, eyebrows, lip liner and eyeliner. You will be required to demonstrate a range of techniques, needle choices and correct pigment choice as well as client care, consultation, health & hygiene and communication with your clients. During the RPL process you will have access to your tutor by phone, or skype, as required, in order to fully support you while you complete this award. 19 TRAINING BOOKINGS To secure your place on a course more than 28 days away, we require a non-refundable deposit (amount varies according to course) with balance of payment due 28 days before the start of your course. We require full payment if your training date is within 28 days. Please note that part 1 study notes are only sent out to students when we have received payment in full. You should allow 20 hours of independent study to complete all the tasks in the manual and prepare yourself for your part 1 written assessment which will take place on day one of your training course. This counts towards your final assessment score. Special Treatment Licence It is your responsibility to ensure that you have the necessary Special Treatment License in place so that you are able to commence work on completing of part 1 of your training.
