Last year we had a tremendous offering, and sold cattle all across the country. These cattle have been well recognized in showrings all across the country. In the last 30 days since one of our best and most consistent Junior National shows we have had the most Division, Reserve, and Champions ever at fairs all across the mid-west. Truly a testament to you guys, the customer. Thanks for all the hard work and good luck! It s really been a defining year in the Shorthorn breed. Montie Soules and his staff have really hit the ground running. Look at all the changes that have actually taken place, removing the if it ain't broke, don t try to fix it attitude we have all worked with at one time or another. He has big plans for us as a breed and I'm looking forward to see what's next. What's next? For KOLT Cattle the next chapter is in the midst of being written. Yes we are currently involved in several breeds, but for us we feel Shorthorn is still a perfect fit. Year after year we have been fortunate to work with a first-class team and breeders that continue to share the same focus. That focus allows use to work together, compete at an all-time high level and still have time to do the family things that make life extra special! Little tighter haired at picture time but this female doesn t need much because she is so good in her shoulder to rib transition, and has enough thickness and extra depth to compete. Four sisters out of a former Simple Choice s sale-topper, I don t think we can ask for anything else! LOT 12 Not photoed, she will have a video later in September and it could have more hits than Caitlyn Jenners transformation on YouTube. I apologize, this female was hurt while processing at weaning, she is 100% now and 100% guaranteed! The Carly s Mirage cow is maybe the best daughter of the old cow (Mirage 0266) yet. Females this good are hard to find, just be patient. LOT 13 Maybe the longest necked, most massively constructed female in the sale that is sure to be a crowd favorite on October 4th. I love the attachment of this females neck at the top of her shoulders, she has the look of greatness, what else would you expect from this mating. Because of the mothers success at several shows early in her career did KOLT Cattle meet some of our dearest friends in the cattle business. Lisa Nikkel has told me that Carly continually kept her up at night, these late nights allowed her to strategies plans how Jake and Ben s heifer could beat her, however this never happened. The only Red Reward daughter to date from this great donor and with all the success we ve had, dare I say is her best yet! A first calf from the outstanding calf crop produced by KOLT Flawless, our lead bull in the 2013 Reserve Champion Pen in Denver. This heifer s dam was purchased by the Bill Beckler Family in a past Simple Choice s sale. Lot 24 gives us a unique blend of old school genetics coupled with a new powerful dose of young genetics. Clean made, bold sprung cattle seem to be popular, but heifers like Lot 24 with that extra kick of muscle from behind and bone at the ground are hard to come by.
