7 THE SOLUTION WAS IN THEIR POCKETS THE STORY ABOUT THREE FRIENDS AND A UNIVERSAL SMARTPHONE LENS The photographer Arto Ekman and the professional snowboarders Fredu Sirviö and Eero Ettala s mutual passion for board, photo and sports resulted in a unified vision to make it more simple for everyone to take awesome pictures. The guys had observed the complicated process from photographing to editing and complete picture. They were missing a solution that made the process more simple without interference from various cameras, computers and editing programs, and further could be shared on social media with a simple keystroke. The solution was closer than they could have predicted from the beginning, in their pockets! This is a brief way of describing the start of the company Black Eye, whose universal photo lens was the result of the problem the friends had observed. The lens can easily be attached to your mobile phone camera and you re ready to take great photos. The lens fits on all smartphones and is available in several versions depending on the need of the end user. The company Black Eye, based in Helsinki, soon became a hit on the market and has, since 2013, provided their unique lens to users across the world. The friends describe their product as A truly game changer, as everyone, including the amateur, is able to take awesome pictures with their mobile phone. The guys are challenging the existing game rules for cameras on the market with their smart lens.
