4 Technical Fibres Technology. Meta and Para-Aramid fibres are vital to help stop a fabric from breaking open after exposure to heat and flame while keeping the fabric structure intact. Highly durable inherently Flame Retardant manmade fibres, Meta and Para-Aramids are ideally suited to high temperate applications. Under intense heat the manmade fibres have a Non-Thermoplastic reaction (do not melt), a high pyrolysis temperature (will not break down) and a combustion resistant phase change (will not ignite). Simply put Meta and Para Aramids do not change to liquid when exposed to fire which could increase the severity of a burn or injury, neither do they ignite, instead forming a Char on the surface of the fabric.
