12 8 THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PVC AND PU BOOTS PVC gumboots are a popular choice because they are economical, dependable and provide protection against a wide range of acids, oils and chemicals. However, Wayne s range of premium Polyurethane (PU) gumboots are fast becoming a contender within the market place - and with good reason. Their range of PU gumboots can last up to times longer than PVC boots, they are lighter in weight, thereby enhancing the comfort to the wearer. Whilst the benefits of PVC gumboots are clear in many cases, PU gumboots do provide greater resistance to the harsher acids, oils and chemicals that are present in some industrial environments. It is therefore recommended that customers consult the chemical resistance table provided at the back of this catalogue before making a final purchasing decision.
