Breathability is the most efficient way for the body to manage the micro climate without expending too much energy. The billion micropores in the GORE WINDSTOPPER membrane let the body s perspiration escape easily through the garment, even at high levels of physical activity, ensuring a pleasant microclimate. GORE WINDSTOPPER laminate is an extremely thin protective layer, laminated straight into the fabric, making it completely windproof. It is made of the polymer PTFE (polytetrafluorethylene), which is stretched, resulting in a microporous structure. These micropores are 900 times larger than water vapor molecules, so the moisture produced by the body can effectively escape through the fabric. Because of this, GORE WINDSTOPPER laminate provides absolute wind protection and maximum breathability to any fabric, without compromising its original breathability or adding extra weight.
