1 Surgery Dolls and Gowns Supplies Needed Sewing nsrucions 1. Tracing paper for ransferring he paerns 2. Any color or prin fabric for gown 3. 1/3 yard of 36 or 48 woven coon or polyeser fabric in whie, an or brown skin-ones for body. The color should look like healhy skin and be ligh enough so ha fabric markers will show on i. 4. Sewing hread o mach body fabric 5. Ribbon or bias ape for gown ies 6. Polyeser suffing Doll nsrucions 1. Trace he Doll paern from he Paerns secion a he end. 2. Cu ou paern and connec he lines o make one coninuous doll (finished doll abou 16"). 3. Pin paern o fabric and cu ou wo. 4. Mach up wo doll bodies and sew 1/4" seams along enire body wih a regular sewing machine, leaving he hole indicaed on he paern open o urn and suff hrough. 5. Afer i is all sewn, clip curves o allow he fabric o urn along curves. Finished Suffed Doll 6. Turn he doll. Make sure ha he enire doll is properly sewn and here are no holes. 7. Suff he enire doll unil i is firm, bu no so here is oo much srain on he seams. 8. Hand-sew he hole ha was used o urn and suff he dolls closed. Please do NOT pu hair or faces on he dolls!! The children will do his o personalize hem! The doll is now complee and ready for he gown! - 1 -

Place ono fabric and cu ou wo pieces. 4. Cu one of he pieces down he middle. 5. f you have a serger, serge he wo pieces ogeher from he neck o he op ip of he sleeve on each side, making sure ha he wo righ sides are ogeher. 6. Nex, serge along he whole sleeve, from ip o ip. Then, urn he serged edge o he inside and sew wih a regular machine o hem i. Do his on boh sleeves, o make a nice hemmed edge. 7. Serge along he neck all he way around. Turn o he inside and hem wih a regular machine, like you did wih he sleeves. 8. Serge along he inside, sewing ogeher he back and fron from he boom sleeve ip o he armpi and down o he boom of he gown in one seam. Do his along boh edges. 9. Wih each of he wo halves of he back piece ha were spli in he beginning, serge along he edge and fold inside, bu do no hem ye wih regular machine

Place one on eiher side of he X on he paern, so ha hey can be ied o make bows o almos close up he back, and look like real hospial gowns. 11. Pin o inside serged edge ha is folded inward. Hem he wo edges wih he gown ies aached, locking hem ino place. 12. Serge along he boom of he gown and hem jus as i was done wih he ohers. 13. Place ono finished and suffed doll.
