1 Uniform School shop opening times Term time: Monday-Friday 9.30am-4.30pm Holidays: The shop will be open during the holidays. Parents may telephone for information. New parents are requested to make an appointment to purchase uniform. The shop closes between pm for lunch. Purchases may be made via the School Shop web site: Naming Clothes At the start of your child s stay at Reed s, all clothing bought from the school shop will be steam named. This service is compulsory. There is a charge of 20 for day boys and 25 for boarders; this includes the naming of towels and duvet covers. Once the initial payment has been made all replacements bought from the school shop will be named free of charge. All other clothing, shoes and possessions including casual clothing and underwear MUST be named. The School is happy to steam name all these items at a cost of 50p per label. Clothes found to be unnamed will be named and the charge placed on the end of term bill. Replacements Parents must see that their children return to school with the right size items correctly marked and in good repair. If replacements are necessary the School reserves the right to provide what is needed and to invoice accordingly. Casual Clothing Boarders may bring back to school a limited amount of non-uniform clothing, which must be named, to be worn during certain periods of free time. The suggested maximum is 2 pairs jeans/trousers, 3 T- shirts, 1 shirt and a sweater.

The principle is smart dress of a standard suitable attending a formal interview. Girls should wear a skirt of a reasonable length (close to the knee) or trousers which should be of a classic, full length style. Neither should be tight or of a stretchy fabric. They should wear a suit jacket over a blouse (with collar) which should be tucked in. Blouses should be buttoned up appropriately and made of a fabric which is not see-through. V-neck jumpers or cardigans may be worn beneath the jacket. Girls do not need to wear ties, but may do so if they wish: if worn they should always be fully done up and collars buttoned. Shoes should have heels of only modest height. Tights should be blue, black, brown or flesh coloured. Hair should be of a length and style that does not draw undue attention to itself; this includes dyeing. Girls may wear a single pair of discreet earrings or studs; no other ornamental piercing is accepted. Other jewellery should be restricted to a minimum. Nail polish should be discreet. Make up should be appropriate to a daytime office situation. Any queries about the above should be referred to the Head of Sixth Form Girls.

5 Uniform / Appearance for Sixth Form Boys 6th Form boys must wear a matching suit of a nature suitable for office wear. The suit must not be of denim or corduroy material, must not be skin-tight and trousers may not look like jeans. Shirts should be of a plain colour or striped and work with a school tie. The overall look should be suitable for attending a formal interview. V-neck pullovers, waistcoats or cardigans may be worn as optional extras. Please note that sweat shirts, zipped cardigans, round-neck pullovers or any garments with logos or wording should not be worn. Black or brown leather shoes are to be worn: boots, boat shoes, plimsolls, trainers, and any other footwear are not acceptable. Socks must be worn and should be barely visible and a sober colour. Scarves should be Reed s School scarves, or of an unobtrusive colour and pattern; football scarves or those with logos and lettering are not acceptable. Students are expected to be clean shaven at all times, and with sideburns that do not extend below the level of the ear lobe, nor across the cheek. No ear studs or other piercings are acceptable. Hair regulations for 6th Form boys are exactly the same as for the rest of the School. Coats should be smart; navy or black. The Head of Sixth Form reserves the right to decide on the acceptability of any respect of clothing or personal appearance. Boarders All boarders will require the following: 2 Single duvet covers with metal press studs or button fastenings. The School will provide sheets, pillows and pillow cases.
