Ey, Dean of Students Laurie Berndt, Head Secretary Academic Reports. The first academic reports were ed on September 4. These reports indicate a grade to date in each course your son is taking, and an accumulative grade point average. A minimum 2.00 is required for athletic eligibility. Please feel free to contact the instructor for consultation. Activities Eligibility. For the purpose of eligibility only, a student will have five school days to make up any incomplete grade. If an incomplete remains after five school days, it will be considered an F (0.00) for purposes of calculating eligibility grade point. Student Handbook. Please refer regularly to the Student Handbook for all calendar dates. Special dates, reminders, and changes will appear in the Home-School Bulletin. Homecoming. The St. Charles Student Council is sponsoring the annual Homecoming Dance on Saturday, October 13, 18. The dance will be held in the St. Charles Commons from 7:30 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. DJ music, dancing, and refreshments will be provided. The dress code is semi-formal, which requires our young men to wear coats and ties, and their dates to wear appropriate dresses. Tickets are $15 per couple. Students should listen to announcements regarding details of ticket sales. Adult chaperones are needed to supervise the dance. Please contact Mr. Gibbons at jgibbons@scprep.org if you would like to chaperone, or have any questions. Guidance meetings. Please check your frequent s from Mr. Stahlman and the Guidance staff for current information. Also check the student handbook for important dates for parent meetings. Absences and Appointments. Please remember to call the school office before 9:00 a.m. at when your son will be absent, late, or need to leave early from school. See the Student Handbook page for the Attendance policy. Student Driving and Parking. A student who has a valid Ohio driver s license, and has received permission from his parents or guardian, may drive to school. Students are permitted to park in designated areas only. Students are to register the make and model of the car they are driving to school and its license number. Forms are available in the main office. Senior Pictures. Senior parents should be aware that senior pictures for the St. Charles graduation composite and the yearbook should be taken by Prestige Portraits. To contact them for an appointment, contact them at prestigeportraits.com. For parents who are not interested in having a full session done by them, they will be scheduling a photo session here at St. Charles. They will take a formal shot, with jacket and tie that will go in the yearbook and 19 composite. More information will be sent later when a date is chosen. Junior Class Rings. Representatives from Herff-Jones will be here on Thursday, September, during lunch, to take late orders for class rings from current juniors or seniors. Ring packets with information are available in the main office. Orders should be placed as soon as possible so that the rings can be delivered to school by November 1. On that day, we celebrate the feast of St. Charles and will have a ring blessing ceremony during that all school mass. 8th Grade Open House. Open House for 8th graders and their parents is scheduled for Sunday, November 4 at 1:00 p.m. Please spread the word and invite some folks to see and hear about the St. Charles story. Subsidy Billings. Subsidy billings have been sent to the parishes. If you have moved or joined a new parish and not yet given St. Charles the current information, please contact our finance manager, Tracy Loesing ( ext. 25), as soon as possible. Nurse Notes Seniors are required to submit documentation of their meningitis vaccination. A list of delinquent students is posted in senior religion class. Please ask your son if his name is listed. During the next few months vision and hearing screenings will be completed on all freshman and transfer students. A note suggesting follow up will be sent home if any deficit is detected. Any student at S.C. can be screened at any time during the year should you notice any vision or hearing change. Student athletes can avoid skin irritations and infection. Showering after practice/games, and daily laundering of equipment will help. Please have your son report any unusual skin irritations to the nurse or trainer. Cold and flu outbreaks - there are a few things that can be done to reduce illness. Most important is handwashing - as often as possible. Keeping your hands away from your face is difficult but reduces the chance of spreading germs. Eating healthy foods and reducing sugar intake helps your immune system.

2 Getting plenty of rest can also help keep illness away. The teachers and staff remind the young men about these habits and appreciate the reinforcement they get from home. St. Charles Mothers Club 18 Cardinal Christmas Auction. Save the Date: Saturday, December 1, 18 - The 31st Annual Cardinal Christmas Auction and Dinner in the Robert C. Walter Student Commons. Mass at 5:00 p.m., Cocktails at 6:00 p.m., Dinner at 7:30 p.m. with silent & live auction activities from 6:00-10: 00 p.m. Donation information along with a SignUpGenius page for donation suggestions will be sent out mid-september. We are also collecting gently used or new purses for our Auction Purse Grab. Feel free to bring your donation to the Mothers Club Social on September 11th, or you can drop off any donation in the development office. Please be sure to include a donation form (attached). The Purse Grab is a fun way to get the auction festivities rolling. For any questions regarding the event or to volunteer, please contact the Auction Chair, Liza Seewald ( or Lseewald02@gmail.com). St. Charles trip to France and Spain in 19! Senior Religion teacher Mr. Adam Smith will be taking a group of St. Charles students, alumni, parents, and families to France and Spain in June of 19. This trip will include stops in Paris, Bordeaux, the Loire Valley, San Sebastian, Pamplona, and Barcelona. The trip is almost full but there is space for 10 more. Adults are welcome. Don t miss out on this amazing opportunity to travel with the St. Charles family. Enrollment will close on September 15th. ATHLETICS Soccer. Are you in need of some new Cardinals spirit wear? The St. Charles soccer team has you covered. The sale begins Friday, September 7 and ends Sunday, September 23, at 11:55 pm. The gear will be shipped directly to the address of your choice for a flat shipping rate of $4.99. Items will deliver via USPS the week of October 15. Thank you for supporting the St Charles Soccer team. GO CARDS!!! Hockey. The popular St. Charles fall spirit wear sale is available through September. This sale has quantity merchandise from Nike and Under Armour; including 1/2 zip pullovers, jackets, sweatshirts, joggers, trucker hats, blankets, shorts, and more! Order through using the access code on the attached flyer. Proceeds from the sale benefit the St. Charles hockey program. Items will be available in November in plenty of time for holiday gift giving! Purchased items will be distributed to the boys during lunch unless alternate arrangements are made. A mandatory parent meeting will be held on Tuesday, Oct 9 at 7:00 p.m. in the Cavello Center. Please plan to attend this important meeting as we will be discussing the program schedule, fundraising, spirit wear sales, parent volunteer responsibilities and program fees.
