Every single day, three DuPont brands - Tyvek, Tychem and ProShield provide reliable protection for workers across the globe. Now, we ve harmonised our product identification system and unified the packaging to enable easier identification of our products as well as facilitate garment selection. Simple numeric system allows to easily recognize the level of protection. The higher the number, the higher the protection. By this improvement we are not only making it easier to select the right garment for any application but also ensure compliance of our products with the latest EU regulation on Personal Protective Equipment (EU) 2016/425. This brochure explains the key changes that we will be implementing, along with details on the new product names. 2

3 NEW BRANDING, SAME PRODUCTS Harmonised branding, same reliable protection Three powerful protection brands - Tyvek, Tychem and Proshield. One simple system. The number in the new garment name indicates the garment s level of protection. The higher the number, the higher the protection. Products with the new name will still retain the same level of protection, performance and features as those with the original name. Garment level of protection NEW CERTIFICATION Compliance with the new regulation (EU) 2016/425 Products with the new identification system and in improved packaging design will be certified to the new EU regulation 2016/425 Personal Protective Equipment. First products certified according to the regulation (EU) 2016/425 will start to appear on the market in July NEW PACKAGING & GARMENT LABELING Easy product identification We have unified our packaging designs to make it easier to identify and categorize our products. That is why all garment labels are in the shape of an octagon and have their unique color: DuPont ProShield is grey, DuPont Tyvek is blue and DuPont Tychem is orange. Product dimensions and quantities per packaging item are not changing. Packaging item specific EAN codes Each packaging item has its own unique barcode (EAN code). This enables easy scanning of labels and helps to simplify stock management. 3

4 TIMELINE On the timeline below you can see key milestones connected to the DuPont Branding &Packaging harmonisation as well as EU regulation 2016/425. July - December 2018 DuPont introduces products compliant with the new regulation (EU) 2016/245 and with new branding/packaging as of July Transition will be completed by end DUPONT TIMELINE DuPont supply transition April 21st 2018 Current PPE directive 89/686/EEC is repealed by the new regulation (EU) 2016/425. REGULATION EU 2016/425 TIMELINE April 2023 Distributors can only sell products certified according to the new regulation (EU) 2016/425. Products with new branding, packaging and certification will start to appear on the market as of July We would recommend as of then to have your systems and brochures updated according to the new branding. To support and guide throughout the transition period, we have developed a set of tools which are available on your dedicated Distributor Portal at The original products with certification according to old PPE directive 89/686/EEC will be available until stock depletion. PRODUCT BRANDING GUIDE The number in the new garment name indicates the garment s level of protection. You can see that the ProShield range of products is described in tens, Tyvek in hundreds and Tychem in thousands, to enable easy protection identification. The higher the number, the higher the protection. On the next pages, you can find a complete crossover table for the three ranges. You can expect the same garment construction and performance under the new product identification system.
