5 01 SUPER GRIP SOLE For daily use in MEDICINE, KITChens and THE gastronomy SECtor Precisely in the medical, kitchen and gastronomy sectors, being able to trust one s equipment is paramount. To guarantee this, BIRKENSTOCK Professional has developed models with the super-grip sole which, thanks to its special design with highly elastic layers, offers additional comfort. The EVA insole automatically compensates for uneven surfaces, whilst the anti-slip, oil and grease-resistant rubber outer sole fulfils the regulatory requirements of EN ISO 13287; 2012.

The super-grip sole is ideal for daily use in hospitals, kitchens and the gastronomy sector.

6 The super grip sole consists of two components: a heavily cushioned intermediate sole made of EVA (ethylene vinyl acetate) and an anti-slip rubber outer sole tested in accordance with EN ISO 13287:2012. The outer sole is also particularly resistant to oil and grease. The super-grip sole is ideal for daily use in hospitals, kitchens and the gastronomy sector. They still determine the applicable standards in this area to this day. The technical services provider TÜV Rheinland tests our BIRKENSTOCK Professional models against the following standards: EN ISO 244: Specifications and test procedure EN ISO 245: Specifications for safety shoes EN ISO 246: Specifications for protective shoes EN ISO 247: Specifications for occupational shoes All shoes are described as occupational shoes if they have slip-resistant, antistatic or similar characteristics and generally do not have special toe protection. Models with toe protection are divided into two categories: protective shoes (plastic toecap, impact energy of up to 100 joules) and safety shoes (steel toecap, impact energy of up to 200 joules).
