3 IVANKA concrete house of fashion debuts at Paris Fashion Week with their very first ready-to-wear and accessories collection aptly named Concrete Genezis. The pieces are progressive in design yet totally wearable and designed for everyday use. ABOUT The Budapest headquartered IVANKA brand ( has been founded by Katalin Ivanka and Andras Ivanka in 2002 and currently is one of the world s leading concrete companies, its prestigious international clientele includes Liberty London, Levi Strauss, Andaz by Hyatt, Oakley, Bang&Olufsen and Vodafone. For the last 10 years IVANKA has been constantly exploring the boundaries of concrete as a raw material: their products ranging from furniture and objects to loudspeakers, facade panelling, jewellery - and have received a number of international awards and recognitions. The Ivankas are dreamers and doers living in the fabulous city of Budapest in the middle of Central Europe, where the 20-year old fragile democracy is now facing a most serious paradigm shift. Through their creations with concrete, their affinity for the material and a constant search for new technological solutions, their work speaks volumes about their country of origin, and also about their approach to design. Their latest and most innovative line is a pret-a-porter and accessories collection based on concrete. The profound knowledge and experience of a decade as well as the professional background (IVANKA Studio & Factory) ensure that the Ivanka concrete house of fashion is here to stay.
4 THE WORLD OF IVANKA the 10 years celebrating brand for beton design Since its inception, IVANKA has made a name for adding a design perspective to what is otherwise widely viewed as an industrial material. They have taken concrete, and handled that material creating products that defy normal concrete capacities and rock our conventional image of this material today. It is most renowned for its unique wall panels, FLASTER Tiles, for its special technology of monolith exposed staircases, for the Jankovits-Ivanka Concrete Sound audiophile loudspeaker design and high end engineering. Embracing a 21th century taboo subject, the studio made its successful Milan Design Week debut with SEEYOU contemporary gravestone design. In December 2011 IVANKA established its third company: IVANKA Factory Zrt. (cplc.) corporation. (At the beginning the two founders Andras and Katalin have started with IR-Comp BT. limited partnership, an already existing company taken over for the start of their brand new activity January IVANKA Concrete KFT.,-an LTD. had also been founded for the division of the main export products.) The IVANKA brand acts like a living organism that conceived and born, it enters relationships, has values, a unique identity and personality. It loves to take risks and to improve based on both intuition and strategies.

7 The world s first cement ready-to-wear and accessories collection We developed a new textile-innovation based on the esthetic qualities of concrete: using this textile, we have created on a clothing collection that draws a line from a raw masculine look to finer classic femininity. Visualizing today s modern urban woman and building on the dualism of her fragility and power that can be found in all women, our goal is to illustrate the delicate contrast and crossgender phenomena through different shapes and materials - playing with contrasts of hard concrete and soft fabric and introduces classic shapes in a brand new context. Our clothing line has been complemented with an accessories collection where real high performance concrete elements meet leather to create a sequence of clutch handbags: beginning with a simply geometric rectangular model - the archetype of a block of beton - made almost entirely out of monolith concrete, the evolution of the collection explores the effects produced by alternating the ratio between concrete and leather. 19 WERK It is not only architecture and design that establish the material but it is the material that the creative process, and the discipline of design demands a reciprocal relationship that can move from idea to materiality as well as in the opposite direction moving materiality to idea. We can experience the cumulative creative energy coming from the fusion of practices and an endless curiosity. We are developing each other s third eye seeing the world another way.

21 A SHOT OF FLUID in MOTION Concrete s robustness is accompanied with an active force within that expresses the material s contradictory states of fluidity and cast solidity. Concrete construction projects are antistatic, can be defined as a shot of fluid in motion. Concrete s plastic characteristics from fluid to solid, allowing for the production of sophisticated forms combined with its mass and resilience make free transformations possible while efficiently resolving structural and physical demands.
