2 ABOUT ABSOLUTE NEW YORK was founded in 2014 by Alex Chung, a seasoned entrepreneur with years of experience in multiple facets of the beauty industry. He had an atypically colorful upbringing that ultimately molded his cosmopolitan view of beauty born and raised in Brazil to Korean parents, who then moved the family to New York City in pursuit of the American dream. It was here, in the heart of New York, where Alex first cultivated his fascination with beauty he observed a true melting pot of cultures, the motley of lifestyles, and how passionate women were about makeup. As his involvement in the industry grew, he began to see a growing disconnect between the cosmetic brands and their consumers. Very few brands in the market took risks, or created products that were as diverse as the women seeking them. And so, ABSOLUTE NEW YORK was created as an answer to this oversaturation of one-dimensional beauty brands.
