10 INSTALLATIONS T.Lipop Collaborated with Selfridges on its Bright Young Things Initiative in Jan Selfridges unveiled its winners for Bright Young Things New upcoming talents showcased their new designs to the public eye. Bright Young Things was launched on January 6th of and ran until the end of February. It debutedin 2011 as part of Selfridges commitment to supporting young British designers. Last year, The Bright Young Things project at Selfridges, has been proofed to be a huge success. In 2012, for the second time Bright Young Things, Selfridges displays a group of womenswear, menswear and accessories in the store to buy. As Alex Iancovici, Selfridges buyer for contemporary womenswear, said We are constantly looking for new design talent, whether during London Fashion Week, graduate shows or in Paris trade markets, and T.Lipop ticked all the boxes, t. l i p o p

12 COLLABORATIONS River Island Debuts at London Collections: Men with Fash/On Film, Introducing the First Design Forum Menswear Collection with T. Lipop. After 3 hugely successful womenswear collaborations, River Island s Design Forum initiative sets it sights on menswear talent, this time handing the reigns over to British Designer T. Lipop for Autumn/Winter The 16 piece collection, which will include men s t-shirts, trousers and men s jackets, will be available to buy in selected stores and online from the beginning of September Inspired by the historical lineage of British Fashion, T. Lipop s signature is a seamless blend of progressive cutting techniques, luxurious fabrics and technology that brings minimalism to the fore with a considered, yet veiled, complexity. The inspiration behind the T. Lipop Design Forum collection is function=form. A capsule collection of pieces that draws on a range of masculine influences, T. Lipop clashes elements of tailoring and sportswear, functional details and decadent wool and leather fabrications to create a new direction for River Island Menswear. Statement accessories such as the black calfskin rucksack and mirrored rounded frames draw on an authentic military aesthetic. To celebrate the launch, River Island has created a short film with T. Lipop that will be screened as part of the British Fashion Council s Fash/On Film initiative at London Collections: Men this June. The initiative was set up last year to support and develop film in the fashion industry and is proudly sponsored by River Island. Since graduation, Tom Lipop has held senior design positions at Nathan Jenden, House Of Holland and Griffin Laundry before he founded his own label. Following an unprecedented response to his work, Tom has since become a well-respected Designer in his own right and went on to showcase his collection as part of the Fashion East initiative..
