Beginner & advanced; day & evening. admissions@sfdboston.org Collection 2017! On May 11, SFD presented "Collection 2017," our annual fashion show of student fashion designs. Students and models presented work at two separate sold out seatings in our Newbury Street gallery. The evening featured over 60 student-designed garments in daywear, millinery, and eveningwear. The show also included a selection of handbags and leather jewelry by SFD alumnus Gina dewolfe ('09) of dewolfe Leathers of Nantucket. Gina was SFD's 2017 recipient of a Distinguished Alumnus award.

2 "Our annual year-end fashion show is both our culminating student experience, as well as the launching point of our graduating students' promising design careers," said SFD President Dr. Denise Hammon. 5 The fashion show was curated by SFD expert faculty and a panel of industry professional judges. Faculty advisors included Daniel Faucher, Margarita Grimes, and Lisa Taranto. Collection 2017 judges were Jane Conway Caspe, SFD Board of Trustee and owner of Wildflower Concierge of Nantucket; Gina dewolfe ('09,), Owner & designer of dewolfe Leathers; Betsy Jenney of Betsy Jenney Boutique; and Firas Yousif, Owner & designer of Firas Yousif Originals. Featured Class: Photography for the Fashion Designer Thursdays, 5:30pm-10:00pm June 8 - August 10 School of Fashion Design, 136 Newbury St., Boston This specialty studio course introduces students to basic skills such as lighting, composition, styling, and posing to successfully execute a fashion photo shoot in our 10-week workshop. Students will need their own digital or 35mm camera. Instructor: Tracy Aiguier A graduate of the Art Institute of Boston, Tracy has been photographing people and fashion in the Boston area for 30 years. Her clients include Boston Magazine, The Improper Bostonian, White Mountain Shoes, Lady Grace, Rounder Records, Boston Fashion Week, StyleWeek Northeast, and designers Denise Hajjar, Michael depaulo, Firas Yousif, Dylanium Knits, Avni, and more. Tracy has given artist demonstrations at the Museum of Fine Arts, and is a guest teacher at Wentworth Institute of Technology. Her solo & group exhibitions include New England School of Photography, Boston Architectural College, Milton Academy, Digital Silver Imaging, Downtown Crossing, and the W Hotel. 6 SFD Senior Instructor Daniel Faucher is the recipient of both the Bonwit Teller Award and the Designers Line Award. After graduating from SFD, Daniel began his career at North End Fabrics Harrison Textiles as a fabric buyer and store manager. In 1985, after working for several prestigious design firms in Boston and New York, Daniel began designing under his own label, Daniel Faucher Couture, creating special occasion apparel. Daniel is one of the few practitioners of couture dressmaking and creates one-of-a-kind ensembles for his clients in his South End atelier. His collections are seen routinely at the Ritz-Carlton, Boston Harbor, Four Seasons and Colonnade hotels in Boston, and have graced the pages of such publications as Women's Wear Daily, Boston Magazine, The Boston Globe, The Boston Herald and New England Bride. Daniel teaches pattern making, construction, and draping at all levels. Daniel tells his students, "everything in life is a learned skill, and putting in the time and effort is all that is required. Developing those skills happens over time, and everything can be learned." SFD Seen on the Scene:
