5 Introduction Thyagaraya Nagar, better known by its abbreviated form T. Nagar, is the Heart of Chennai, India. Though conceived as a residential locality, it is now one of the principal shopping districts of the city. 15 Government s contribution Since the government knows well that T.Nagar is the preferred destination during any celebration/festival, police and traffic police are always on high alert. The flyover of around 1.5 km length to ease traffic congestion at the busy Panagal Park junction and also along Usman Road, Venkatnarayana Road and Thyagaraya Road. The total project cost is about Rs 19.8 crore. The Chennai Corporation Council has passed a resolution approving a 25 crore project to build a multi-level parking facility on Bashyam Road.
