18 Swimwear Market Overview The desire of women to look fashionable by the pool and at the beach is driving demand for bikinis and swimsuits; and these changing trends in fashion are prompting designers to update swimwear and beachwear costumes regularly. Increasing incorporation of fashion elements into swimwear is attracting more consumers, especially the new generation. Also poised to benefit growth in the market is the lauch of multifunctional cover-up swimwear and beachwear which doubles up as semi-casual wear for pool parties and for venturing straight from beaches and pools to onearby outdoor venues, such as shopping centers, resorts and restaurants. Currently, consumers wear beach/swimwear in all seasons, which is driving business growth. Europe, United States and South America dominate the global swimwear and beachwear market, as stated by many market reports on the swimwear and beachwear market. 19 GREGOR PIROUZI Born in the Tyrol, Austria and raised in Europe. Pirouzi was educated at the University of Applied Arts Vienna, where he studied under Vivienne Westwood. While a student he already began working for Helmut Lang and graduated with honors in In 1995 Pirouzi started to work as a fulltime design assistant to Helmut Lang and joined Vivienne Westwood s London team in 1996, to create her diffusion line Red Label and Man accessories collections. In 1997 Pirouzi was appointed Creative Director at Atelier Versace, where he has been responsible for the company s Couture collections, immediately following Gianni Versace s death Pirouzi served as the Creative Director of Krizia in their Milan head office. In 2000 Pirouzi started to work as a free lance consultant under the synonym name, UD Club - Uncontrollable Desires Club. Pirouzi offers a broader range of services such as creative direction, product design and brand strategies. The client list includes global luxury brands and cultural organizations such as Giorgio Armani, Jill Stuart, Vivienne Westwood, Swarovski, Agent Provocateur, Palmers, MINI or The Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. In 2003 Nina Peter and Gregor Pirouzi established the fashion brand Nina Peter Hautnah, where Pirouzi served as the Creative Director of the company. The company produced a full line of contemporary leather goods, handbags and luxury accessories in addition to their glove collections. The brands flagship store in Vienna was designed by Pirouzi and also operated under his own leadership. The label was featured in leading fashion magazines around the world and presented by acknowledged stores including Collette, Liberty, Lane Crawford, Kirna Zabete, Harvey Nichols Pirouzi developed the worldwide franchise system of Agent Provocateur, together with the co-founder Mr Joseph Corre. And from 2007 to 2010, Pirouzi was appointed Creative Director of Agent Provocateur s entertainment division, staging a program of spectacular events and marketing strategies. As one of Vienna s most influential retailers, Pirouzi established Agent Provocateur into the Austrian market and as the master franchisee for CEE countries as well in cities like Prague and Ljubljana. In 2012, Pirouzi developed a one of a kind Vivienne Westwood store as the franchisee in Vienna. The shop offers the widest range of women s clothing to its costumers, as well as a made-to-measure evening and wedding dress service. In 2013, Pirouzi opened the Days of Fabulous fashion store, in the center of Vienna, featuring selected Austrian Designers & American Vintage. The shop was awarded coolest store in Vienna in the same year. Among several successful marketing and brand strategies for Agent Provocateur, Nina Peter, Vivienne Westwood, Pirouzi initiated and coordinated Vivienne Westwoods engagement as the costume designer for the Vienna State Ballet segment of the Vienna New Year s Concert 2014, one of the most prestigious and televised cultural events in the world (broadcasted in 80 countries with over 60 million viewers). Pirouzi s successful collaboration with Vivienne Westwood led in 2016 to develop together the uniforms of the world famous Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. In addition to Pirouzi s involvement in the high luxury fashion business, the multifaceted designer also creates costumes for the Vienna State Opera. In 2016 Gregor Pirouzi Swim & Beachwear is launched the first collection under the designers own name.
