2 Small region - great effect About the project Under the banner of Made in Vorarlberg, Contentstudio developed an innovative, emotive storytelling concept for Vorarlberg Tourismus, aimed at enhancing the image of the region and promoting it as a tourist destination. Six short videos tell stories of real people in Vorarlberg, showcasing trades and crafts, agricultural activities, culinary traditions, industries and interaction with nature. Apart from the human stories, features that attract tourists to the region such as its beautiful landscape and rich heritage play an important role in all videos, as they form the backdrop to the stories. The concept was devised in response to the initial task to produce contents for the international landing pages of the Vorarlberg Tourismus website. Instead of just relying on standard videos with stock pictures, models and slow-motion sequences and landscape images, we opted for the story approach. In the end, it is the people who make a region unique and give it its identity through their activities and interaction with the world they live in. These were the topics that we wished to highlight by devising a new form of tourism promotion for Vorarlberg. We therefore produced short feature films that need no text or subtitles. These videos are now used to address international audiences at tourism fairs and are published on the Vorarlberg Tourismus website, in social media and in YouTube ads. The scenes were produced and put together to speak for themselves evoking positive emotions without the need for further explanations. The videos were produced over a period of up to twelve months in order to show the cycle of the seasons (in agriculture, horticulture, forestry, etc.), which gives them extra authenticity and credibility. As we wanted to evoke strong positive emotions, we focused on small-scale producers and their work and on visually attractive features of Vorarlberg that are depicted in a new light.

In cooperation with Contentstudio, we have produced six short videos showing the work and ways of six producers from Vorarlberg. Made in Vorarlberg portrays people who turn everyday items into something extraordinary with good ideas, a passion for perfection and great skills and expertise. And with the ability to inspire others and forge new alliances. All this was captured in the videos in an emotional manner. I don t remember any campaign that has touched me as much as this one does. It s rare to have someone understand me this well.

4 Shrewdness redefined Video 1/6 Simon Vetter belongs to a generation of organic farmers that is proud of its movement. However, he also understands the importance of establishing brands through modern marketing, top product quality and attractive campaigns that set him and his produce apart from the mass market. Among the many chefs that already buy his organic produce is Ulli Marberger of the Elfenküche in Dornbirn. She calls her outlet an urban soup factory, and her healthy creations are perfect examples of sustainable food preparation and processing.

5 Skis handmade in Vorarlberg Video 2/6 In 1924, Anton Kästle produced his first pair of skis in his wainwrights workshop in the village of Hohenems. Little did he know that this marked the start of one of the most successful companies in Vorarlberg. Today, Kästle is a classic brand. Unusual ideas translate into special models, such as the MX Limited ski made from veneer lumber produced from cherry wood sourced in Vorarlberg. The video not only shows how this exceptional ski is produced but also gives an impression of how it feels to glide on the MX Limited over the best ski pistes in Vorarlberg.

6 The tree-whisperer of Hittisau Video 3/6 Markus Faißt is passionate about contemporary design, efficient and sustainable methods, and believes in the protection of natural resources and in respect for every single one of his co-workers. For him, the most important thing is the relevance of his products in the marketplace. Who will use his furniture? Why are people attracted to his designs?

7 Milk and much more Video 4/6 At the beginning, there is milk: in addition to turning the liquid into many varieties of delicious cheese, the Metzler family in Egg manufactures a range of whey-based food, body care and cosmetic products. Their innovative drive goes hand in hand with strong partnerships. Together with like-minded people, the Metzlers have turned their family farm in the Bregenzerwald into a thriving business, supplying many local hotels and restaurants with their products.

8 The fisherwoman of Lake Constance Video 5/6 It would appear obvious that restaurants in Vorarlberg would have fresh fish from Lake Constance on their menu. Things are, however, not quite that straight-forward, as the lake s yield varies from season to season, and prices for quality fish are rather high. As a result, many restaurateurs have, in the past, shied away from serving local fish. That s why partnerships such as the one between professional fisherwoman Regula Bösch from Gaißau and top chef Gabi Strahammer from Krumbach are so important.

9 A passion for great taste Video 6/6 Turning one s passion into a job who would not jump at the opportunity! Dissatisfied with the selection of dried fruit available at the time, Harald Schobel developed a new, more gentle method that preserves the consistency and taste of the fruit. His strawberries and prunes, and in particular his apple varieties, are now available in all major retail outlets as well as in the breakfast buffets of local hotels.
