1 Muskogee County 4-H April 2018 April 2018 Blast off to Summer Camp 2018!!! June 6-8th Registration Due May 7th. $50 with a Record Book. ($95 without book) After May 7th $125 Summer camp is almost here! Now is the time to register and get your friends together to attend. The teens are working on new games, workshops, and activities for camp, are your excited?? 4-H Summer Camp is all about fun, friends, and learning. We are scheduled to use the Camp Minnetonka facilities near Clayton Oklahoma. Don t let the camp name scare you. With air conditioned cabins, buffet meals and iced sweet tea we are a long way from real camping. Start talking to your friends and invite them to join us at camp this year. Muskogee county should be taking 150 kids to Summer Camp! Summer Camp Planning Meetings. March 27th and April 17th 6pm at the Extension Office Camp is awesome because of the efforts of the teens that start months ahead of time. The teen leaders involvement in summer camp planning is the key to an exciting summer camp. Teen Leaders, we need your help! In these meetings we will plan for: Games Shirt Design Workshops Recreation Small Group Activities Schedule Speakers Etc. Camp Counselors: 4-H Members 9-12 grade that attend camp may be invited to serve as a camp counselor and work with a small group during camp. Those teens will go to camp on June 5th to get everything ready for the campers arrival. Counselors also need to plan to get home later on Friday because we have something special planned for you on the way home. 4-H Members 7th grade and up! We always need some fun, hands on, engaging workshops for camp. If you are interested in teaching a minute workshop, turn in a short description of a hands on, fun workshop to be considered. Contact your club leader for some ideas. Think of how your workshop can tie into the theme of Camp.

2 State Record Book Process Rough Draft Due April 2nd. Final Copy Due April 16th. State Record Books take time and effort to be successful. Your first step is to talk to me to help you get started in the right direction. From there it is a process of condensing your years of county record books into the state form and shinning the book to its full potential. This is why I am a stickler for the first draft being due nearly a month before the State Deadline. We need time to find the errors, reword things, and showcase your 4-H work in the best light. Turn in a copy of your record book to me by Midnight on April 1st. It can be a hardcopy or ed but it must be turned in for review. Your rough draft will be reviewed and returned to you for changes/corrections and then you will submit your final copy so that we can get it turned into State Judging. I have heard that they are being very picky on submission guidelines for record books this year. Let s give ourselves time to get everything right. For each 4-H member that submits a State Record Book for State competition we have a donor that will pay your portion of the State Roundup Registration Fees. If you turn in a state record book you go to Roundup for FREE!!!! Northeast District 4-H Contest Days. May 29th-31st Kellyville, OK Registration Due May 14th.
